What is scary is the Mayor Pete is only getting better at answering tough questions. It’s hard to deny his talent. The part where the interviewer tries to ask “oh why does Harris have to pick a white guy” then about her VP picks after Buttigieg says that he thinks it’s defeatist to assume Harris can’t win just because of her race and gender seems like she was being deliberately obtuse. There is a difference between saying that things have gotten better in that regard and saying that miraculously suddenly we think those aspects of a candidate’s identity won’t be a factor. In the case of Harris’s campaign I also think it goes a bit deeper than just “gotta pick a white guy to appease the racists and misogynists 🤠!” There is already a deliberate framing of amongst the Republican Party that Harris is a “DEI hire.” A white male VP pick doesn’t necessarily counter that, but a pick of someone like Whitmer for example would definitely feed that narrative. And it’s important to be careful with that because there are a surprisingly amount of white people in this country who don’t think they are racist or sexist, but who also chaff at the emphasis of diversity because they hear that as “white men don’t matter anymore.” And it’s not just Republicans, I’ve seen it in Democrats in my own family. So weirdly in this case the best way to prove to voters that they are “just picking the best candidate and not playing identity politics”… is to play identity politics and not necessarily pick the best candidate. Which sucks. But that’s where we are. And it is a different place than we were 10 years ago. Both those things can be true.

Rosse said Harris has not yet accepted the offer, but he "expects to hear from him this week." Harris who still holds a tenured position at the University of Wisconsin, has served as a visiting Professor here, and is currently teaching at the University of the West Indies in Kingston, Jamaica. The appointment is the direct result of student pressure in recent years to hire more faculty who favor an "alternative approach" to economics, said Economics Prof. John Gurley, who now teaches the only undergraduate course in Marxist economics. Gurley said the appointment of Harris was the culmination of the six-month "round-the-world" search for the most qualified Marxist professor available Exceptionally good Gurley called Harris "an exceptionally good teacher, outstanding researcher and one of the leading young people in Marxist economics." One knowledgeable source told the Daily that some senior faculty members were very hesitant hiring Harris, but they gradually yielded tp student pressure. A conservative economics faculty member, who wished to remain anonymous said he was "not part of the decision and it would not be fair to say anything. " He also added that "as far as I'm concerned Harris is not in the same field I'm in." Pete's still plenty patronizing but he's not as bad as he was in 2020. He frames every answer in terms of personal power, except in a passive, gentle voice. He tells the interviewer to stop making criticisms when he can't defend the party. Why do people like this guy?
@anthonypeterson4282 ай бұрын
Maybe because he’s intelligent, wise, personable, and very quick on his feet. Having highly intelligent people running big organizations like the government, is a good idea.

Americans need a Ted Talk on how to spot bad character. Church up bringing will have to be deprogrammed as the Bible is just story telling. Spiritual Faith is a whole different thing. Biden has IT😇

This is fascinating how the interviewer is asking all these great questions and Pete just dodges and uses misdirection all over the place. Honestly it’s not very impressive and is exactly what people hate about politicians.

Pete answered every question clearly and concisely. Obviously you're so accustomed to following a cult of personality that you'll drink the koolaid when commanded.

You appear to be in an ideological bunker. Personally, my life values dictate that sexual assault, fraud, hateful speech, threats of retribution, and always referencing only his needs consistently vs Americans, is not my idea of a world leader. But that’s me and it is a free country and we need to respect each other. We are all in this together and have to live with our choices.

The only question Pete "dodged" was the V.P. speculation. Military folks are ethical and factual. You may want to listen again. Hope he didn't use to many words for your self bandaged ears 🤮
