I see a lot of people coming up on KZbin now trying to tell UFC stories like Patrick. Some of them are engaging and do a half decent job but none of them tell a story as well as Patrick in terms of Music, pacing, philosophy, storytelling and everything else. Watching their videos feels like watching a KZbin video. Watching yours feels like watching a movie. Keep up the good work. You are the benchmark and epitome of the gold standard that should be pursued. And what amazes me is that you also improve with every single video or should I say, you are showing how many more tools you still have. For example, in this video itself, there were literally so parallel stories/references going on from Md Ali, to his father to his friend to his amateur career to his UFC career. And you made all of them work organically with each other in such a flawless way with all of them ending/converging in the end near the climax in the hero’s journey.

@knky98bouba825 ай бұрын
I remember when he just won the title off Mendes. I didn't like his swagger , his "arrogance " if you wanna call it that . I was a big Aldo fan and was shocked he got KTFO . But Connor grew on me , he wasn't like the other fighters, boring and overly respectful. He talks the talk and walks the walk. He's what the sport needed and I also realised that "arrogance " is kinda like his belief in himself. It reminded me why I liked Ali so much. Talk a lot of shit , bite more than you can chew then walk out there in front of millions and make it happen. Whether you like Connor or not the guy is a showman/entertainer and is a great athlete.
@philosopher11304 ай бұрын
@@knky98bouba82 the sport did NOT need him… at all… back in the day the fights were about moving up the rankings. Now those rankings mean nothing. When you were champ, your only goal was to defend the belt as many times as possible against the next contender. Now they just wanna be “champ champ” 😒 Conor skips the line constantly and skips over fighters who have actually put in the work for years while he’s been out for years. The fact there’s any talk of a title around his name is disgusting.. Also, Conor has never defended a single title he’s ever won in any promotion but made evvvvveryone and their mama chase the “champ champ” bs when it’s one of the dumbest things ever & does nothing but hold up 2 divisions every time & makes fighters who have not even come close to beating HALF of their division wanna move up or down for a second belt. It’s dumb.
@knky98bouba824 ай бұрын
@philosopher1130 I actually agree with what you commented. The sport didn't "need" him and yeah he didn't defend shit and they definitely fast tracked his career with some "interesting" match ups. Maybe "needed" is the wrong word but he was something different than the cookie cutter mma guys at the time....and that was refreshing and brought some excitement. Why do you need to preface this with being a Khabib fan lol

Conor fan here, if khabib fought mystic Mac, Champ champ Conor he would have gotten wrecked. Instead he got lazy alcoholic barley training McGregor and still gave him arguably his hardest fight
@DudleyHamby5 ай бұрын
God do I agree with you my friend. He was humble and an amazing fighter. Money does change people and not for the better in most cases. It changed him into a narcissistic jerk, which broke my heart. He lost that something special. I was cheering my ass off when Khabib had him in that neckcrank. It's bad to hope for Khabib to break that jaw to shut him up finally. I've watched that fight so many times since then with a smile. Remember, I used to love this guy.

Don't let these other comments rub the wrong way. Khabib was a grappling BEAST!!!

@@FBGshouldveducked I wholeheartedly agree with you. If Khabib had fought sober and motivated Mcgregor, Khabib would've probably killed him and sent his corpse back to Ireland with a bottle of that ProperPiss.

Yea it’s like I said before… before Conor, people weren’t really THAT just downright disrespectful in every way like Conor was. Chael mighta done it but he wasn’t AS mean as Conor lol & Yea it was to get under peoples skin, but he did it in a way that people weren’t doing and hadn’t done before & Aldo hadn’t really ever been blatantly disrespected like that in front of millions of fans.. I’m not the biggest fan of it either but whatever peaks peoples interests I guess 🤷🏽♂️

Khabib and a not weight depleted Poirier 😂😂 Khabib whoops his ass 10 outta 10 times, no question about that. Poirier already proved he’s the naturally better fighter. Neither belonged at 145 where they first met, both cut way too much weight. Their past 2 fights showed exactly what happens when they show up & fight skill for skill. His 🍆riders hate facts tho 🤷🏽♂️

Got me again at the part w his dad at the end. The people who don’t truly understand what they’re looking at when they watch this sport…I feel sorry for them. I try the best I can to explain it so they can experience watching it like I do. I could never come close to doing a better job than this video does when his father doesn’t see a boy…he sees a man now. Greek legends lived out in real life in real time. Risking everything fighting for an impossible dream only they can see…and only they believe in I actually have that sentence tattooed on me in a foreign language I know no one else who reads it will know… Fighting for a dream only I can see That’s a JOF original right there. In the Bahamas I actually met a girl who spoke that language and when she read the quote she said “your translation isn’t perfect but that actually makes it better”. Then she just sat there for a minute and thought about it and was like “that’s a really cool tattoo” ….she got it.
