Baunin na lang natin ang mga aral ng nakaraan patungo sa kinabukasan at maging mabuting mamamayan sa kasalukuyan.

Poor kid. No one wants to be bashed. Let's say just na hinde siya ganun katalino. For sure hinde naman siyang masamang tao. Even murderers are given a fair chance for trial. If some of you have came across with Lourd De Veyra. It was his tag line before in a history mini docu " History, chismis noon, kasaysayan ngayon". If you guys have time to watch it. Try to look for it in youtube. You will learn so much from it and compared it to the current era. Example of a "chismis" history that was later on proven truth is that Aguinaldo was the one who ordered for Gen. Luna to be killed in Cabanatuan, it was only proven not so long ago when they found the letter of Aguinaldo to Gen Luna ordering him to go to Cabanatuan. It was considered chismis then to the historian until it the letter came out and prove that the chismis was true. Therefore, it was the "chismis" that drives the historians to look for a proof that can prove the before groundless rumor.

this was explained by tito boy and another historian in a Rappler Talk a week ago. that was a very insightful discussion. they did say that historians come across with certain pieces of chismis and it is their responsibility to prove or disprove it. it goes through a series of methodologies to prove its validity, then update history but not distort it.

Sa mundo natin may mga tao talagang mapanghusga. We are all different from any aspects, from attitude to personality of a person. Kahit saan ka mapunta there are sensitive and judgemental people. May mga tao talagang hindi ka maiintindihan, hindi nila aalamin o may iba walang pake kung ano yung saloobin mo, kung anong nararamdaman mo. Even though sa simple man o malaking pagkakamali, may mga tao'ng huhusgahan kana agad at walang pakialam kung ano yung sasabihin mo para idepensa yung side mo. Sa totoo lang, ang issue kasi dito is yung mga tao. Kung paano tayo mag-rereact sa mga bagay-bagay at paligid natin. Hindi talaga maiiwasan na namimisunderstood tayo. Na minsan, huhusgahan nila tayo khit hindi sapat yung dahilan nila para manapak ng ibang tao. People will talk to an issue. It is a normal reaction to things they experience or hear about. They will talk to convey a story, discuss a situation, or simply to pass the time even though it's a useless and non sense topic kapag issue na ang usapan. Pero it doesn't mean all people are toxic! May mga tao lang talaga na kung anu-ano lang ang sinasabi sa isang issue na malayo naman sa katotohanan, basta makasawsaw lang and maybe makitid ang utak. Lahat tayo nagkakamali sa buhay. But it's up to us how we are going to rule our lives of being a humankind.

She expressed her opinion - could hurt some but that's her truth (she's not the only one who has similar opinion about this). What this reveals though is the alarming prevalence of cancel culture. Ella is a human being- she has family and friends, strengths, weaknesses, aspirations. Those who dehumanize and shame her for sharing her opinion (which was even taken in a wrong context by irresponsible journalists) must think hard. Let's not forget that making her trend in social media and adding on to the insults, sarcastic remarks tell more about us as a person. Do we get pleasure in seeing someone get bashed around? Exactly, we are human beings. We should have the capability to hold seemingly contradicting ideas in our head and not lose our minds. Ganyan ang buhay, hindi black and white na para bang pag history, totoo na dapat. That's the ideal picture, na sana totoo lahat ng nasa history books. Just watched this. Ang akin lang kasi yun ang pagkakaintindi ni Ella sa history. At binigyan naman nya ng support kung bakit nasabi nya na "like tsismis" ang history. For sure, kung may pagkakataon pang ma-explore ang sinabi nya ay maliliwanagan ang lahat. Kaya lang binigyan na ng matinding pakahulugan ang sinabi nya. Hirap lang kasi, tayming na mainit pa ang magkabilang kampo na kung anong opinyon meron tayo na political related ay sigurong mapapaso or worse masusunog ka sa bashing. I agree with Miss Ella na the history lessons that we were taught (mine was in the 60s) were insufficient, biased, filtered, or loaded depending on who was responsible for this part of our education at a given time. I would not call it "tsismis" but I am not totally surprised that Miss Ella felt this way. Like me now, she must have felt really confused about what the true events during the old Marcos era were and what was real or fabricated news. Unfortunately, most of the news that we get is in reality "second-hand" news provided to the reporter by people who may not have really been present when the event took place. As a citizen of this country, I'm only saying this caused this is what I realized after all the issues that happened and still happening to our country. What I am seeing is a divided country, challenged by history and (the people behind) who should be acknowledged as a factual side. We frequently forget the essence of being a human, and a Filipino. We forget to hear the two sides of the story (we may hear them, but we often avoid listening to them). We just want to believe who we wanted to, sometimes without even knowing what's beyond both stories. If we knew, it's either we accept the truth or neglect it. Or sometimes it's our chance to tell people our understanding without degrading one's perspective. What if both are right and factual, however, it's just that their side stories are based on their perspective. One thing I just want to point out is, Plss we are Human and we are FILIPINOS, we should be the ones seeing things we should and hearing/listening to the stories we should and we are competent so, it is right and just that we should be the one's understanding, and Correcting what's wrong our fellow citizens did/say. I am not good at explaining my opinion, and I wish if I mistakenly spelled some words or my sentences are grammatically wrong, correct me and just, read between the lines 😘
