After watching this documentary (as I see if, not so much a clip or a movie) I feel this is more than just a hobby to them. It's a way to live. Simply put...wow...I'm not sure my smile faded at all for fifteen minutes! My dad died in 2011 and never got to see me hang up the compound about three years ago in favor of the stickbow. The traditional bow has amazing affects on people , it's a life changer and bring different views on life than just about any other sport . When you have a family group involved , the life style and closeness that emerges from it can go on for generations and teach so many life skills only found from that bond and that traditional life style . Thanks so much for sharing your lifestyle with us . Your dreams , your passions will touch others and hopefully change some minds of those who don't have a clue or interest or understanding of what and why you and those involved in this lifestyle do what we do .

Been making self bows for myself, my wife and grandkids. can't get any simpler than a stick and string except for a spear. It is amazing to be shooting and hunting with something that was even used in early bibical times and is still very effective. God created us to hunt and gave us the ability to both build bows and to use them. I have bows that were made in the early 60s and they are still very awesome weapons to take game with. The harvest of the meat of the animal is an awesome thing and something to give thanks for. Having Cherokee in my blood makes shooting the stick and string even more enjoyable and part of me. Getting the grandkids involved in the stick and string is even more enjoyable knowing that we are passing something wonderful on. The gracefulness of the wooden bow is sleek and light in the hand and yet powerful enough to harvest game. The sheer beauty of the simply bow is something that blows me away as does my God. Be blessed even more so.
