This video describes invasion of Antwerp by the German Army in May 1940.
It starts with a flight over the city. The oil tanks at the harbor are seen engulfed in flames, set on fire by the English as the German troops approached. The areas below show signs of fierce battle, with the Luftwaffe assisting the infantry in overcoming the struggle. Positions around Antwerp are completely devastated. A war memorial is observed, camouflaging a heavily armored bunker. The fortifications around Antwerp have been overcome, and German assault troops stand on the outskirts of the suburb. Across the Scheldt River, fierce fighting takes place, with artillery bombarding resistance nests. Cyclist-mounted troops are the first to enter the city, followed by motorized columns. Residents have sought refuge from the horrors of war. Machine guns are positioned on large squares to secure against air attacks.
