What an absolutely wonderful film.🤩 I was inspired, over and over again by your many stories of life and environment working together seamlessly. Undoubtedly, the future of this area is actually going to improve because as population levels decline and the need for food is less, or new production techniques come online, the area will regenerate - by itself or with help from humans. It is not an overnight thing but I feel optimism for the beauty to be able to thrive a thousandfold in due course. The filming was SO excellent, the writing very good, the narration voice just perfect. Thank you to all concerned with the creation of this film!❤

It's not about civilization....most of those countries had little care about the environment on their way to industrialise.

Germany has underrated water systems, for a country that’s very developed, it has many rivers and lakes with cool animals

A fabulous documentary. Beautiful and informative. On the one hand it's sad and frustrating how indiscriminate farming, ground water use, and gravel pits destroy the precious and fragile and beautiful ecosystems. On the other hand I'm encouraged by the efforts made to reconnect the side branches of the Upper Rhine with the Main river (as well as other efforts). I pray that humans wake up and work together and with more care towards our environment in the near future. I hope people watching these documentaries are able to get the bigger, whole picture. If we deplete our groundwater it's not just fish and birds that suffer, ultimately, it'll be us.
