My goal is to become a Jedi Knight of the Phoenix Mountain Taichi order :-). Another amazing video! Thank you for posting these. I suspect this would be in the Yi training course yet to be posted.

Haha you are totally welcome! In the Star Wars mivie Rogue One, Donnie Yen played a kungfu-y taichi-y Jedi. Maybe we can be members of his tradition. 😁 And yep you're right! This will be in Yi Mastery, and also a bit in Neijin Mastery. 5 out of the 8 Neijin are actually more Yi methods than Qi methods! As such, Neijin is the bridge between the Qi and Yi methods. 😃

Hi Zongqing..! I'm watching more of your videos and I went to your website. I agree with your teaching method. I also believe in the same things. Interestingly, I got kicked out from my family martial arts school a long time ago for suggesting that our classes would be more engaging if they were fun and playful..! I liked your 'bee on the nose' analogy in this video. That was funny..! In aikido, we have the same philosophy of harmony...unfortunately, many people seem to have abandoned the original philosophy and focus only on manipulative technique. They've lost the void, the subtle, and the neutral touch. But I am not discouraged because I have found a handful of people online who think like me and you're one more on the list..! Have a great day!!

Haha well met! I have definitely been lectured by my teacher for being too playful or experimental, so I can relate a bit to your experience with your family martial arts school! I'm a big believer that playing is a way we learn, and a playful mentality that allows us to explore possibilities and situations without fear allows for quantum leap in growth. That's how little children go from speaking gibberish to real language, from playing with food to using chopsticks, from chasing balls aimlessly to being sport players, is it not? I think the void, the subtle, the neutral touch, these are very much what the high skills of Tai Chi are about. What's tricky is that often, even for people who aspire for it, the path to it is lost. They still know what the destination is but don't have the path, and no tools to help along the path. But let's change that! 😃 I'm currently helping my students cultivate what you might call the neutral touch, and it's quite delightful to see their reaction when they get it! Glad to meet you, and if you're ever in California, I hope to meet you in person! Welcome to our community! 😃🙏

@@phoenixmountaintaichi Yes, I agree entirely with that statement...'we go from play to more complex skills'. I wrote a book on aikido (for intermediates and teachers) to inform them of the new sciences telling us exactly that (to be published). I also believe, based on epigenetics, that there can be and should be multiple ways to acquire mastery. The path to the top of the mountain taken by our ancestors is not the only way..! Now we know that our genes and cells are not deterministic but each person's unique mind can use the body to achieve miraculous things. I'm actually an East-West philosopher as well and so I do a lot of independent research in between and across disciplines. Usually, I go with my own hunches and find, later on, corroborating materials in the sciences or in our inner martial art traditions. Like...after reading a kid's book on animal bones, I noted down odd parts that jumped out at me and tried applying movements I would use if I had those extra bones...and bingo! I could do amazing things I couldn't otherwise do. Then, I went online and found Five Animal Frolics and realized the ancients had the same idea. Study nature..! Of course..!! Life should be an endless process of discovery, wonder, surprise and joy. It's nice to meet you and yes, I will definitely make it a point to visit you if I make it to California. Thanks for the invite. ;)

Amazing as always mate 🙏 you clarify a lot with your words, good way of explaining. Mind space is how we the hermetic practitioners use to call the space of the awareness

That's very interesting! I am not very familiar with hermetic practice so it's very cool to hear about similar ideas from different traditions!

@@phoenixmountaintaichi yes, in the end there are a lot of similar principles and concepts. The concept of using your awareness to synchronize with something to catch information by synchrony and translate it by the process of making images of the brain to see without eyes and things like that, or to influence things by tuning a particular sensation is the basis for real magick. I'm a musician and sometimes if my band has some kind of misunderstanding I try to expand my awareness/mental space around and tune happiness and everything tunes into that sensation. Good for our everyday lives. 👍🙏 I have a question about tai ji quan, when teachers talk about opening the yoon chun point, what are they refering to? A psichic-physical change in our feet (transformation of the structure or something)? Or just feeling the natural expanding of that area to feel the earth energy/Di Qi bubbling below us and use it??
@phoenixmountaintaichi
@phoenixmountaintaichi 2 ай бұрын
@@DragonIndigoYou give a really cool example about influencing and tuning to improve the mood of your music vans. I suppose the great live performance musicians instinctively have that impact on a very large scale. I attended the Taylor Swift Eras Tour with my wife and her capacity to influence the mood and energy of the entire stadium was totally amazing! 😃 When Taijiquan talks about opening a body part such as the Yongquan (bubbling well), it means to activate that energy structure so that it can engage in its intended function, such as to resonate with the energy of the Earth. The other possibility you describe, creating some physical change of the feet, is the mistake that people sometimes make, such as when over emphasizing changing the curvature of their back to open the mingmen. The body and the energy structure resonate with each other so there is some change that occurs physically as you activate the energy structures, and some body positions facilitate the energy center activation. Your awareness is more helpful when you place it on the change happening energetically and allow the physical to follow. That's the key to the Old Six Roads Form that makes it look so smooth and comfortable! Thanks for this really cool discussion on some of what happens underneath the surface! I think it can help some people to place their awareness and intention where it's most helpful for their practice and growth. And that's something totally worth contributing to, right? 😃🙏

You certainly know, but I like to share. If you expand your awareness behind someone when touching, the other person is pushing himself. Furthermore if you expand your awareness behind yourself and sit there, you dissolve the otherone's notice. And the power no longer comes from your body and therefore gives no connection of your opponent to work with. I thank you fore sharing your knowledge

This is amazing, like in the anime Hunter x Hunter when Nen (ability to control one's aura) was introduced, which is inspired from this ancient art

I think this type of demonstration is less common in martial arts, while aside from combat arts, you may find more instances where we experience things like this in energy healing and other healing traditions. Energy healing is not inherently a part of Tai Chi, but this kind of energetic mastery can be a part of why Tai Chi can be so wonderful for our health, can it not? And quite a few of my students are healers and they have enjoyed how Tai Chi has enhanced their capacity to heal, and how being a healing has helped them deepen their Tai Chi skill. It's a nice Yin and Yang. ☯️ Everything I show on this channel, I will teach. This is about Tai Chi demystified, not Tai Chi Pretend To Look Cool While Teaching Nothing ha ha. I look forward to a even better world when so many people have good energy, good intentions, and the confidence to be the wonderful person that they are. 😃🙏

You might suppose that you know what she is thinking, and beyond that, one who is really watching can begin to recognize that it's more than that, because she experiences the real joy of experiencing something new, and the joy of new understanding beginning to form. These videos are from the organic learning process, sometimes they don't know how to say what they experience, because it's happening real time, not scripted or rehearsed, so the confusion, the frustration sometimes, and best of all the joy of their mind lighting up with the new experiences, are all on display here. Beyond what is on there, I also know I have the messages of thank you from her and other students, expressing their gratitude for their learning, and their excitement at their growing skills! I understand that in presenting some of the more esoteric, more difficult to accept concepts will invite some people who dislike such presentations and as well as people who feel they are authorities on what is right and what is possible. Nonetheless I know I am not alone in being interested in such topics, and for everyone who shares these interests, these videos are for you. 😁 I am enjoying making these videos, expressing what I really want to express, sharing what I really want to share for the Tai Chi world. And I'm glad for all of you who support me on this journey! Thanks for all your support and see you at the next video. 😃🙏
