I've been a fan of the Irish Rovers since I was just a wee lad - my parents had their album "The Unicorn" and I would make them play it all the time. Then they got their TV show in 1971 when I was seven years old, and I fell in love with Jimmy Ferguson - I wanted to be just like him when I grew up. He was my role model, my mentor, my imaginary best friend, my pretend big brother, and it broke my heart when he died. I still love him and miss him - even though I never got the chance to meet him, I still think of him as family. Thank you, Jennifer, for this wonderful video tribute, and thank you to George Millar and the other members of the Irish Rovers (past and present) for a lifetime of great music, great fun, and great memories. And, George, if you read this, I really hope you start recruiting some younger members to carry on the tradition for another 50+ years! Sláinte mhaith.

To the Rovers...glad to find you again, thanks to Barret "Dr Demento" Hansen and Casey Kasem, two gents who've been great about showing me all sorts of music genres, including one that's been around since my youth. And I have become a fan of you gents once more, gladly, I hope you and your families all have a great Easter holiday. And let's all raise a glass before long to all the members of the Rovers, especially your beloved buddy Jimmy Ferguson (RIP, old friend)...and may ye all be in Heaven a half hour before the Devil knows you're dead! :)
