THE IRON CLAW, and the true story of the Von Erichs - Interview w/ Kevin Anton

Actor Kevin Anton recently took some time to talk to ReviewSTL about the new film THE IRON CLAW, the true story of the Von Erich family. Anton plays legendary wrestler Harley Race in the film. He talks about his experience making the film, as well as some of his past roles on The Sopranos and with Russell Crowe in the limited series, The Loudest Voice. The Iron Claw is in theaters on December 22.

The resemblance is close! Totally different demeanor and everything though, so I'm quite eager to see how well he hits the mark on his on-screen portrayal of Race.

The Iron Claw film shows the hardships and tragedies of the Von Erich family. The film needed two more music montages in the first 45 minutes of the movie since the story dragged at the beginning, but it then picked up for the rest of the film. The only acting weak link in the film came from the actor who portrayed Ric Flair who was atrocious in the role. This is during the era of World Class Championship Wrestling. This is the territory of Fritz Von Erich and his sons. This is the era of Harley Race, Ric Flair, Bruiser Brody, Jerry Lawler, Kamala, The Missing Link and The Fabulous Freebirds.
