I will never forget the first time wrestling really caught my eye as a 9 yr old kid watching with my grandma...Hogan beat The Iron Sheik..Without the Sheik there wud be no Hulkamania..All these years later Sheik still plays the gimmick as he always has..WWF in the early 80's did shows in our small town at Shippensburg University..As a 10yr old i will never fogret going to the rest room during a show and The Iron Sheik walks into the rest room

Back in the early/mid 1990's when Sheik was in WCW, I went to the same gym that he did along with JYD, Sargent Dwayne Bruce, Harlem Heat, Chris Benoit, Diamond Studd, and other WCW guys of the time. Sheik's daughter was still alive and he had the muscle gut. I remember Sheik telling me , "Do you think Blond Guitar picker could beat me in a fair fight"? He was pretty mellow back then and would let people twirl the Pelwan clubs. I did not know him and JYD were such medicine men until later on. Except for Benoit and Hall everyone was very pleasant.
