I'd love to see this more and labelled for the deck builds of each character. Knowing the cards to look for and order of play. by watching your runs has made me so much better at this game.
@rayaronitwitchybrow Жыл бұрын
I believe he's said before that there aren't really "builds" in this game. There's so much rng that goes into which cards you get that it's better to think for yourself how your cards work together. You'd be surprised how many cards in each class synergize when used properly. Frost did however make a tier list of cards for each class which might be useful for some guidance.
@elim9054 Жыл бұрын
It's more productive to think about how cards help you address your upcoming threats. In act 1 you should prioritize upfront damage over scaling or synergies until you've added and upgraded at least a couple of cards. Basic example: Blade dance is a strong card in act 1, but it's not because you might get a "shiv build" going. It's strong because its damage per energy is much better than a strike (literally twice as good) and upgrading it adds more damage to your deck than upgrading a strike would. Likewise adding a raw Accuracy to your deck in act 1 is almost always a bad idea, because it won't do anything for you right away and it's not guaranteed to ever do anything. Even if you already have a few blade dances, an early accuracy may not be correct unless you need a scaling solution to kill Hexaghost or Lagavulin quickly.
@Tombert Жыл бұрын
As far as builds and synergies, he's said you can definitely look for things that work well with what you have and it takes some time to recognize those, but you shouldn't go into any run trying to do anything in particular, cuz like if you say "I'm going to make a poison build this game" and you never find any poison cards, then you're screwed.

Honestly i half think the discussion on the value of snecko's eye should be it's own video for a reference for newer players. Frost's explanation was honestly fantastic.
@Buddy_Beatz Жыл бұрын
the bit where you went super into detail with the sneko eye was great. i always steer clear of it. but having you explain all that, it makes sense. if your deck has good overall "value" its perfectly fine to take it.
@GFCOLCQuote Жыл бұрын
Honestly, watching your runs has really helped me learn about the game. I think my biggest fault is understanding the minutia of chances, like remembering potion rates and the chance for a monster to do a type of attack and plan accordingly.
@otapic Жыл бұрын
I think the biggest takeaway new players can get is on card pick priority The answer is always pick the card that solves your current problem. Do you not have enough damage? Pick a strike+ Not enough block? Pick a block+ Too many energy but you can't spend it all? Get card draw Can't play barricade without endangering yourself? Get more energy Your strikes are dirtying your draw even though you have better strike+ cards? Remove strike, same goes for block After you've made a solid deck, then maybe in act 2 you can start leaning into an archetype if you do see any in your cards

My only question is...for each of those questions how do you know if the answer is yes or no

32:50 this whole section about Snecko was pretty damn helpful
@elim9054 Жыл бұрын
Sad that Snecko had to be skipped, but I think the analysis of it was correct. You were too dependent on cards for energy, and your draw was already quite good with centennial+dark embrace+double offering. Corruption would have made it a no-brainer, but it almost always does.

i have never taken snecko eye until hearing frost's praise for it, and once i tried it i beat the heart with the silent for the first time. i wasn't even trying for heart, i just went for it on a whim once i got a useless relic from a chest. i will be taking snecko eye very often from now on.
@yihsien11125 ай бұрын
Yeah the idea is the less strikes and defenses you have, the better it gets. As long as your cards are high value/you have 4 energy, Snecko is a no-brainer. The innate +2 draws every turn is already super high value.

Ironclad is billed as the “simplest” character to play, but his method of blocking isn’t straightforward. Ironclad blocks by: - Having a shit ton of max HP - Healing with Reaper & strength scaling - Using exhaust synergies, as shown in this video - Abusing Barricade and Entrench

I would love to see more overly explained runs. Especially so you can overly explain a run with poor RNG. Your viewers can't learn very much if you're just handed an easily navigated win. For example, the bad turn at 9:40 when he was doing almost all of your health, the only reason you got out of that was because you happened to get a gambler's potion from an entropic brew. That is absurdly lucky. And ESPECIALLY when you get fucking Kunai with Anger. At that point, what can I even take away from this video other than "just get lucky bro". Not shitting on you, I'm just trying to explain my thought process.
