Dad used to slay the carp there in the 70's and I had a couple of nice hauls there in the late 80's. Back then it was full of 5lb carp. Rarely anything bigger or smaller. Night fish was banned when I went as was the use of boilies.

Hi Carl it was nice to meet you on the isle and have a chat with you about casting. Really opened me and my dad's minds right up! Hopefully with your tips we can catch a few more fish. Thank you for the tips and hopefully we will see you fishing on there in the future.

Unfortunately we didn't have any fish afterwards but my dad is very impressed and is confident it will help him cast the distance he requires. I believe it will help us pick out the fish in the out of bounds zone. Thank you.

Was great to meet you carl and thank you for the advice I practiced a bit before I left the lake and already I'm putting yards on my cast so big thank you much appreciated I've also fished cound had 6 or 7 fish off there all around the 15 and 16lb mark but there is a lot bigger in there including the one you mentioned in your vlog I do know that it's been out over the last week or 2 I've caught all mine fishing the bottom in 26ft of water but I have found depths of over 50ft

I like seeing where your exploring an unknown lake. It's interesting and after all, fishing is not just about catching fish, it's the whole package. Exploring. Swim finding, finding bait spots, baiting up and hopefully catching. Cool vid.

The isle was the jewel in the PA crown, not anymore. Fished it loads in the early 90s, chocker with fish to about 16lb, and some good Tench. Last time i fished it was about 15 years ago mid winter and it was hard. At its peak you could check your landing net after landing a fish, and there would be loads of tiny carp tadpole size, perfect mirrors, and commons stuck in the bottom of the net, thats how prolific a breeding lake this was. PA used to have several matches a season on it, always won with massive weights.

@@jwilkinson1953 no problem at all I've heard the carp are all stunners and from the ones I've seen cruising on the top they were massive at least 3 or 4 30+ and a good head of mid double to upper 20s all shoaled together literally basking in the sunshine only to have left the floater gear at home lol so that was a lesson learned lol hope this helps buddy 👍🎣🎣

Hi I was and still am lucky enough to fish the private side and the pa side as my dad was the assistant sec of pa in the 80s had some awsome days on the private side fishing the tree line...fish to high 20s....1 day me and a mate had 75 carp biggest almost 28lbs....sadly we lost over 800 fish to a massive freeze ...we buried the fish at the back of the higher pegs in a pit we dug and filled with lime...it was awful to see

Cound is mega.... extremely hard but well worth the effort. Some very large carp to over 40lb. Depth is over 50ft in places. I spent alot of time plumbing around mid week when no one was there. The second car park is the best place but it's still a trek with a Barrow mostly I've caught from areas around 20ft mark and using 2 markers as the swing back is quite considerable. Good little vlog matey and I hope you have some fun on there.
