If I had to provide any speculation, I imagine Cerato will become the first true “bully” creature, an animal designed not necessarily to pursue prey every time but rather an animal with enough defense, hp, and bite force to bully animals into giving up their kills and will specialize in combating other slower stockier animals like Magi. I imagine it’s gameplay would boil down to ambush tactics when hunting, waiting for animals to come to you and then pinning them in a hard to escape situation and doing large chunks of damage rather than perusing and then dancing around prey lightly pecking at them until they die like in legacy. I imagine that the potential improved swim will make it excellent at escaping animals who can tank it harder than it can like allosaurus and be able to pursue young Deinosuchus like you theorized, however I imagine like for all the other animals currently in everima an adult deino will be a hefty challenge either to be avoided or tackled as a unit, however I imagine Cerato can manage these hunts with significantly smaller packs than say carno and utah. Should you find yourself in a position where you need food however and your ambush attempts have been unsuccessful, the bully aspect of Cerato will come further into play where you have the driving force behind you to force animals like utah and carno away from kills you otherwise wouldn’t be able to catch and can eat the more putrid meats left by long dead bodies.

I believe it and magi will have an equal matchup. Entirely depending on either players skill. Though magi will be pretty fast (either that or its gonna get an Hp/Defense and attack buff to have a chance against allo) as stated by kissen and co.

I love that idea, and hope that that does happen. I'm hoping it does become more of a scavenger then a hunter. It might make it more realistic.

As for your speculation, if they transition cerato to evrima 1:1 I think he will fall behind pretty fast once more carnivores are added. They may assume the role you mentioned, but I find it hard to believe they will be able to bully anyone under such harsh and heavy competition

@@XZaguer The devs did say that cerato would be like a "oversized, scaly Honey Badger" so I really don't see that being that much of far-fetched. Legacy Cera used to be like this when it first got added, having extreme bleed resistance, but it got nerfed to the ground.

Cera is not supposed to be semi aquatic, but it lived close to the water. It’s very accurate cera. Cera was better at swimming than other land dinos. Not as good as spinosaurids ofc, but just adapted for swamps.

The way Cerato's agility could still give it an advantage even with the current turn in place mechanic is giving it an alt attack that resembles the Utah's alt attack, where it could lunge at something in the direction that the camera is pointing and deal some extra damage plus allowing it to reach and bite behind itself faster than a Carno could, making it almost invulnerable to attacks from behind.

I don't think the Cerato attacking the Deino shows dominance over it, especially since Deino is meant to be near apex while cerato is low mid tier. I think its showing their slight lean into the good swimmer aspect makes Cera a natural predator to young Deinos. Because right now even baby Deinos have like no threats unless they're totally caught out of water or cannibalized.

At the start I used to main Cerato, but then I swapped to Dilophosaurus on Thenyaw (I know, I'm evil). I was mostly attracted to it because of it's look, in Evrima it might be a sort of jack of all trades with a decent bite for it's size. Loving the quality of the editing, if you plan on continuing you might want to look into a good dedicated microphone as well.

If Cera is really going to be like the "oversized honey badger" of The Isle like its description says, then I want it to be tough. Far from unbeatable, but tough. Honey badgers are fearless to the point where a pair of them fending off a pride of lions has been recorded, so I want Cera to be able to occasionally pull off something like that, like fighting off an Allo or something. NOT COMMONLY, but occasionally, if desperate enough. And I want it to be able to hold its own in a fight against bleed-specializing dinos, unlike Legacy where it can die from getting a goddamn prick by a sewing needle XD.

If anything the honey badger would be more interested in finding some lion cubs…because the last thing a lion cub would want to do is pick a fight with a honey badger…it would be tough for even an adult! And while you are correct about them not being very fast, they have pretty average vision, so whats up with insulting a perfectly fine animal? Or are you just a lion supremacist?

Personally I believe turn radius is still in play. When running in Evrima, each dino has a particular angle of top speed space they can turn in. For example; Carno has a 30-degree window in which it can run at top speed, any further and it has to slow down to turn. Cerato could keep all of its stats! It can have a higher turn radius and be able to run at top speed with a wider angle, let's say 45 degrees or so! (Dryo and Galli would be able to turn 50 degrees to help evade carnivores)

Honestly the scavenger would suit allo more, as allos had teeth more designed for shredding flesh and it being so common in the Morrisson formation probably reflected it feeding greatly on the big herbivores and their carcasses. Cerato however, whilst also scavenging frequently, may have been more like a jackal, scavenging a lot yes, but also being a generalist hunter of small to medium prey, including aquatic. The cerato seems good though, I think it should get higher bite force, it had a better bite than allo in reality as well. I think it works well as a generalist. I do think allo should also be able to scavenge as well as cerato, but maybe the cerato is able to process bone unlike the allo.

I think cera in Ervima would be like an irl leopard. It would probably have decent bite force now since we can see it crushing the head of the magy and penetrating the deino’s skin. It will not be good at combat as it’s a smaller theropod, but can escape through water

Personally I don’t really like the idea of Ceratosaurus being a cannibal. We have way more proof of Allosaurus being a cannibal. It’s possible that most meat eating dinosaurs could’ve been cannibalistic sometimes so it being exclusive to Ceratosaurus seems odd.

If everything could eat their own kind then it would be too easy for carnivores to live. I have experienced being able to cannibalize and I will say that it gets significantly easier than if you couldn't as a carnivore. With carno and utah back when evrima first existed. Cannibalism being a bad thing is good for the game, makes more fun and less one-sided. Plus, it's very thematic that the cerato can eat ANYTHING, even it's own rotten dead kind.
