They have to introduce some interesting game loop for small herbi/omnivores, it gets really boring really fast playing as them since they are quite elusive from big predators, being small and all. and food is rather easy to get. However that's pretty much about it you cannot do anything else other than nest which due to lower populations of the species it's hard to find people, since most ppl play the big herbivores or carnivores. You can't really do combat with other predators since you ll be 1hit even if you got a herd xD

I have a very different view on this. a stego (or trike later on) is a very slow or more relaxed gameplay, an omni is rather hectic when playing, a rex was (and probably will be) driven by food, a deino is rather patiently to play and little ones are exciting because of the oneshot factor. you can get killed at any second out of nowhere. which makes them exciting to play. even more, a chase as a dryo is as exciting to me as a fight as cera or rex. it's often even more thrilling than an apex fight. so, I don't expect to be able to combat with bigger predators and also don't need any loop. the purpose of most little ones is the chase and to escape, that's exciting enough in my opinion

I wonder if the devs could do an unstuck command that has a timed second delay where you have to stand still or not take damage from outside sources. That way, it can't be abused during combat and can work if people are nearby. Similar to safe logging.

One thing I love about the swamp expansion, is the biome extends into the delta a bit now. I just think thats really cool! Otherwise I do really like the new swamp and I like the palm beach between it and south plains. Can't wait to see them flesh that out a bit more! Swamp is sooo big and even more difficult to navigate now though. Hopefully they add some more landmarks within the swamp and some pathways to help with navigation a bit, as right now its just a lot of the same over and over. While land dinos will have to swim more to navigate it, I'm not sure how much opportunity it presents for deinos because its a maze for them to navigate as well. I hadn't even noticed they removed one of the domes! And I was playing as ptera haha, guess I was too focused on the swamp to notice. That or I didn't notice it through the near constant rain. I'll miss the walk between the domes, but I think it was worth losing for the palm beach and swamp extension.

I loved the way between the domes too and in fact it is even more far between the swamp and south now. the new connection (that sand path) is more far west than the way between the domes was. not much, but still. in general I like the swamp, but, as you said, I am afraid it will be tough for deinos to ambush. as beipi I already noticed many shallow water parts between the deeper ones. so, you have to find a place and hope someones comes by, because you can barely move between places without giving away your position. specially on the long run, when people know the ways in the new swamp, it will probably be very difficult to ambush there I mean, I get it that they have an eye on the upcoming semi aquatics, but, they won't arrive that soon and till then deino has to suffer for no reason. hopefully I am wrong and they surprise us with barry soon

@@da.mombie Yeah its hard not to be disappointed, especially since they seem to be teasing Allo, but are now saying we'll get Rex before Allo. On one hand I can understand why Dibble was such a big project and might take more development than some other dinos (plus it lays the groundwork for sparring in general), but on the other hand I want Allo so bad it was my main in Legacy. I also know people really want Rex, but it just doesn't make sense to me to develop it first even if it is really popular. It won't be on official servers, and the mid tier roster really needs to be fleshed out more before adding a big apex like that in my opinion. I don't even know how you would keep a Rex fed with the current roster and ai.

@@kiernanscanlon8965 I feel pretty much the same. a rex would eat the 4-5 adult stegos on a server within 2 hours and starve before they regrow them. so, it will probably end in rex vs rex most of the time ^^ I hope you will get your allo this year at least. maybe for christmas

​@@da.mombie I rarely play on official servers (Unless there is a horde test) unfortunately the mentality of other people is terrible (for example: cannibalism among herbivores). I play on Petit Pieds because there are rules, people and administration are really nice and helpful. They often have some events. They have a nice economy on the server. You can transform your adult dinosaur into a ticket that you can use later and in the meantime you can create another dinosaur or buy it from someone else 😅 This is not product placement, I'm not getting paid for this 😜 but I really recommend it 😊

I think swamp will be a lot more interesting (and fun maybe) once spino and sucho (along with more semiacquatics) get added to the roaster. rn without counting in migrations, the only major playable in swamp is deino, which just kill each other lol.

hey Mombi, /unstuck is correct, but you absolutely have to stand for it. If you crouch or lie down, it doesn't work! (I just tested it again myself) 😀👍 The new swamp area is very nicely done in and of itself, but I unexpectedly “got into” it with my Utah in search of food and barely made it out alive (such a huge maze with no food)

thx, I didn't know that about crouch. but, I was also stuck in the crouch animation so, I wouldn't have had a chance anyway I found boars and deer west of that new hill at the sanctuary. there is some AI around, but, hard to find in that maze. even more when it rains, because you don't even hear them anymore.

Glad they got rid of that pesky /unstuck feature and instead added MASSIVE mudzones and removed the fish AI so that my Deino starves 9 times out of 10 when I randomly spawn there.

there was a lot of fish there when I was with beipi. small and big fish all over the place but yeah, I didn't play in the swamp as deino so far, but, it doesn't look very promising for it imo

danke ♥ und moin moin! ganz ehrlich, mir gibt ein kill nichts. das löst nichts bei mir aus. ein guter kampf, fair oder noch besser als underdog und dennoch erfolgreich, ja, das ist ein geniales gefühl. wenn der kill den sieg in einem solchen kampf repräsentiert, dann immer gerne. aber jemanden umbringen der kleiner ist, für nichts und wieder nichts, macht keine laune. es ist nicht befriedigen jemanden zu töten der keine oder kaum eine chance hat. hab das noch nie verstanden. so wie die ganzen spawn sniper in day-z. volles gear und mit der mosin unbewaffnete fresh spawn abknallen. was kann einem bei sowas befriedigen?

I love the new palm beach area but I've only ever found a corpse there. No other players. I get turned around in the new swamp a lot. I went there as a deino and heard others talking but never found them.

I tested this part as Hypsi and Herrera and this one in the end is really annoying. The part where your underwater sight was bad is due to the bug. That place is not finished yet and need fixes.

it might just seem this way as it is new, but, the whole swamp is very big, hardly to cross at certain areas and the many plants make you pass other players without noticing even if they are kind of nearby. can't say for sure, time will tell, but it feels way too big

Yeah I don't know why they expanded the swamp, it was too difficult to navigate as a land based dino to begin with and now its even bigger. Who knows. It is beautiful, don't get me wrong but I'm not understanding the purpose.

my problem is, you barely find someone. the swamp is pretty tight with plants and so you don't see very far at most places. so, even if someone passes by in about 20-30 meter, you very likely miss it. on top of that it's hard to cross at some places, which makes most players keeping on the outside areas. like in the old swamp. only a few people were on the bigger island in the middle. so, you have a huge area which only a few people enter and with plants that make you very likely miss each other. I don't see much interaction in there. I could be just biased by 3 boring hours tho and so I hope I am wrong, because I also love the area for it's beauty. but, even the most beautiful place is useless if you don't meet other players there

My best guess is that they have certain things that they want to add to this new larger swamp, and what we have now is a placeholder. Dondi's stream showed us a "Visitor Center" that will take up a chunk of the old swamp, and we have been told that a mangrove swamp is planned somewhere on Gateway at some point (the current swamp is bald cypress). With this stuff added, the swamp won't just be this big mass of vegetation and scattered water that we see right now
