I’m not into bikes - but anyone can see that these are REAL MEN, courage of lions and nerves of steel. When you see the shandy drinking bally dancers in other sports rolling about in apparent agony after a tap on the ankle and compare them to TT riders who have horrendous accidents and spend weeks in traction in hospital - and all they crave is to get fit enough to straddle a bike and go racing again!

I agree with you that it would've made the video more immersive if I had a more even balance of live audio vs music throughout, the pure sound of 4 cylinders screaming up through the rev range is a foundational part of the experience and attraction. The people who truly feel creations like this are lacking are usually the people who ride because they know that there is an additional dimension to the riding experience that is iconic to its infamy and that is the sound, BUT my skills with video editing are limited and it would've taken a lot longer to complete and I was only doing this for ameture fun not for a professional production company so I achieved what I wanted. Its a race so the entire goal is to be the fastest around the course. You don't become the fastest by going slow and stopping every mile to smell the daisy's on the side of the road. also the entire island knows when race days are on and its an annual publicized event plus theres plenty of signage and barriers informing people what's going on and where the course is so if you get your dumb ass run over or dont take responsible care of your animals then thats your fault.

To be a motorcyclist one must be a sportsman and a philosopher. And death is possible at any moment in life. Some pretend a risk less life is possible but that is an illusion. Either we can ignore risk or manage risk. And ignoring it doesn’t eliminate it. I will take my chances.

@@laughingalien Probably comes from a lifetime of study & practice of various martial arts. In the end it comes down to spirit leads mind & mind leads body. After a while it becomes not even just second nature. It is just how you end up being. Two other solid ideas are attention to detail & the fact that as you get older you have to avoid relying on grappling. My sensei’s friend who was an active 80 yo. Three muggers approached him. He took out the closest one with one quick hard & very antisocial strike, temporarily blinding the attacker. All 3 split. But the lesson he shared with us was that if it went to grappling it was too late. If you train yourself to remain calm & do whatever nastiness the situation requires, you will be going home to your loved ones. Hesitate and they will be at your bedside or your funeral. Takes time to make it your natural response but I figured what else was I doing with my life, so I rolled with it. Just not so much the bjj way of rolling.

oh I thought you were going to ask me a hard question. This one is easy. "who in their right mind would put crap music like this over the sounds of the 'bikes?" - me of course pretty obvious. "Doesn't he/she/it realise people watch videos like this to frickin HEAR the BIKES!" If you read some of the other comments you might find the likes to dislike ratio to be in conflict with your perspective. HOWEVER, I agree with you that it would've made the video more immersive if I had a more even balance of live audio vs music throughout, the pure sound of 4 cylinders screaming up through the rev range is a foundational part of the experience and attraction. @@blueyedjackel Thanks for your response. I lived and worked on the IOM and an intricate part of daily life through the TT 2 week period (well, actually more because many people come with their bikes before the races and some stay after they have ended) is the sound of the bikes, not just the racers but the wannabe racers too. Having to work for most of the time the TT experience, for me, was all about the sounds of the bikes. Perhaps I was being a little harsh, but it is just my personal opinion, and I can listen to crap music 24/7 if I chose to do so ;) Caveat, with the sound muted (haha) I really enjoyed the video
