My father is ISTJ... I am an INTP... And we very often do not understand each other (at least it seems so to me) and argue in a raised voice. But he is a very stable and responsible person and I appreciate that about him. And he (probably) appreciates the way I approach problem solving.

The first clip about that guy from big bang theory explaining _in full detail_ about all these different external things that influence the inner experience all these different internal sensation problems now and later is perfect example of Si. What is good about the example in this case is too that while comfort sounds a sort of in the moment experience, Si is actually pretty long term perceiving orientated too. Sometimes it's also about doing the uncomfortable thing now in order to get the increased reward (the "comfort) later. For example, if you eat healthy now you're likely going to get older in a more comfortable way (meaning with less sickness) than that is what Si types will focus on. They will avoid unwise things because in the moment the are relaxing, if this means it's gonna be a problem long term in terms of decreasing the Si 'comfort'. I think the second example however about the hedonistic ISFJ video example seems less accurateto me , as it shows people being spun in every direction in that device , which is anything but comfortable to the inner sensing world. It's rather disrupting, whether you actually like that disruption or not because you could find other enjoyments out of like excitement. In that sense such ride would seem like an an Se thrillride that seeks to explore the extremes of physical sensation because Se is easily bored by the 'normal' balanced Si experience. Se likes extremes like jumping out of an airplane and such things as simple example whereas the comfort the ISFJ seeks imore like the first example. All the 'boring' stuff like sitting in the perfect temperature, at the perfect moment, eatinng a perfect dinner that both healthy and tasting well, in the sun would be more an Si scenario, if it meant also that it didnt come with big Si comfort after it like having burned face from sitting in the sun for far too long.

True about the ISFJs and not liking that particular ride. Lol. Although I have met SJs who are willing to entertain those thrill rides more than me. But I guess it’s not because they truly enjoy it. It’s usually for some kind of an outcome. Like if their friends go on it, or they want to overcome a fear of roller coasters SO THAT in the future they won’t feel that discomfort around roller coasters.
@the_beloved_pupper6 ай бұрын
@beatofmyown I wanted to add that I think your bit about ISFJs is spot on. All the ISFJs I know are aggressively hedonistic and will do everything and anything to maintain a sense of comfort. I think about those extreme organization videos where the person will buy a bunch of stuff from Amazon to make their drawers look aesthetically pleasing.

@@SoloLevel101 I personally think the house interior interest from the SFJ's could also simply be a combination from their Fe and Si, because their house is always 'in order' it seems, yet not often really extreme in any way. There is no abundance of over sensations there. While the word hedonistic is a bit broad, it always reminds me more of people that go for "hedonistic extremes", wich the top Se types tend to do than the sort of stereotypical house looks of the SFJ's. The ESTP that has a wall to wall painting from a naked woman because that gives them pleasure to look at it sseems more hedonistic sounding than the ESFJ who has her house ready to live in yesterday rather than tomorrow. However, the word hedonistic is accoring some AI's ive talke d to (sometimes easier than google these days) is just a very broad term so whether Se or Si is more hedonistic may be hard to really argue over becasue of that.

The part where you mentioned how ISTJs are always thinking with their bodies first, it struck a major chord with me because I constantly do this in my daily life. Now i know i am an ISTJ, or at least an Si dom.

Well. SAID. You nailed the description P.E.R.F.E.C.T.L.Y. I'm happy about that, really. I feel like ISTJs get the cold shoulder because they're seen as stuck up rule following ocd religious robots. Your description caters more for who the ISTJ is as an individual and what simply matters to that individual.
@beatofmyown6 ай бұрын
I find that ISTJs are the most individualistic personality types in every sense of the word. It’s a little different than gamma’s authenticity individualism. It’s more like staying loyal to that which has worked to bring forth comfort, not necessarily staying loyal to their own values.

@beatofmyown that makes total sense! So, the istj is in the truest sense a collector of experiences to form a personal approach to life for maximum self mobility

Hello Aimee. I am glad that you are making videos again. That was a really good breakdown of what introverted sensing really is. I would just like to add my thoughts and see if you agree or that these are just stereotypes. What I have noticed with the ISTJ at least how they come across is that they are very very practical, and appear to be risk averse. They also have a physical presence of them almost like a slow and steady tank. Even though introverted sensing is the dominant function, they appear very outwardly as thinking types specifically practical thinking types. They come across also as conservative, but not necessarily politically. But conservative in that they make good practical financial decisions and they appear to be basically conservative and how risk averse they are. They appear to be the classic “dad” personality.

Aimee, I have the impression that lately you have more so given your own impressions of functions and a somewhat more individiualistic aproach to describing things out of types, meaning incorporating more your own personal views rather than stuckng to describtions of systems like let's say a socionics , possibly because you know more about them now than before or maybe just because you liked it? Or maybe you just the other thing before more, so to keep it fresh you've moved a bit? I may all be wwrong here, but I just get the impression I see more of that...Have a good day!

yeah i’ve learned that some personality channels are more biased than others. i was a bit put off at first by it at first, but i opened my mind to it and realized im still getting the information about the types so it’s fine :)
@PowerRedBullTypology6 ай бұрын
@@igwynox I would personally not describe it as 'biased' because biased in my impression implies more of a sort of experiential or personal bias that the writer or this case speaker is not aware of, yet lets it influence any sort of idea, conclusion or whatever. In my view it could more be a progression towards someone who has own ideas too rather than someone who presents the ideas of others. I mean, in the end everyone in the typology community is investigating this stuff and coming to somewhat different views or conclusions. In the end every theory is basically just an extended opinion of a person. I always interested to hear the views of others and especially their own ideas too, as they might bring new insights to the table that were not there before yet.

Yeah exactly as you said. I’ve gone through following a lot of different systems. Some were good, some were not. But overall, I found that all of the systems were pretty much saying the same things. So I took the final initiative to simplify all that I’ve learned, and explain the material in a way that’s more understandable to others.

Very odd yet deep take on ISTJ personality🤌🏻. One thing I as an ISTJ have learned about myself throughout my life is that it’s freakin funny how many people guessed my choices in life or expected me to act in a certain way and they were all slapped in the face when they witnessed something other than their assumptions. It’s like staying true to whatever I see fit for my strength of character at the expense of common “joys” we all experience. Not implying it’s a good thing though, just the way I’m wired 🤷🏻♂️
@PowerRedBullTypology6 ай бұрын
Could you give some examples of what they expected and what you did? Also, Were their expectations based on just having experienced you as a person so far, or by knowing your mbti type ..or something else? Would you say that the cause of this difference in expectation vs what you did is cause you keep things to yourself which makes harder to read than others or other things like that? This phenomenon sounds interesting, but I'm not sure if I fully understand it (yet). Thanks ahead!
@igwynox6 ай бұрын
reminds me of “expectation vs. reality” lol
@barbod3206 ай бұрын
@@PowerRedBullTypology Well, it’s actually others perceiving me as an individual not the MBTI factor… And I can tell that I’m not actually big on sharing my inner intentions; what I’m trying to imply is that my actions and decisions are not predictable based on what people know about me or what they deem I should do as a person. There was a time when I deeply fell for a girl who was far from me and my friends assumed would give up soon and it’s temporary not because they knew me well but that everybody else would have done as such and they had no clue I was keeping the relationship going for a year and half…
