A violin shop near me has a Vettori violin made in the 60s. It has bird's-eye maple for the back and scroll. It is a magnificent sounding and very beautiful violin.

I would like to see a video exclusively showing how the top and back are carved to the correct depth and thickness. No one seems to show that. Did you used aged maple and beach and from old growth?

Did any one try to varnish the violin from inside? And see what's the result! As the varnish is such important to improve the sound . Just wondering
@tomm73545 жыл бұрын
Varnishing a violin does not improve the sound of the violin. It actually kills a bit of it's natural sound. It's mainly there to protect the violin and maybe bring out the figuring of the wood. I think varnishing from the inside would just incapsulate the wood, stopping it from aging as nicely and would do more harm than good for the sound.

@@tomm7354 I read stradivarius actually used varnish on top to change the sound. and was an important piece of making areas stronger/weaker on the top fo rhim
