THE JÄGERMEISTER ICE COLD GIG 2014 - The Defiled

A gigantic iceberg has been turned into the most unlikely of gig venues in the Greenland Sea, as Jäger-supported The Defiled became the first band ever to perform on top of a moving 'berg for the Jägermeister Ice Cold Gig.

This shows a very committed band in an extremely good light. Having the balls to film a music video on an iceberg is incredible, the final production must have taken numerous takes. Whether the audio is taken from a performance on the 'berg itself or from somewhere on shore is a moot point. They went there, they did it, and risked themselves in the process. Makes some great entertainment and really makes me miss playing live shows. Good job to all involved.

No without mics on the drum kit it would be impossible to capture a sound like that plus with wind etc no amount of mixing and mastering could eliminate the wind and give such a clear sound

if the audio was all being captured on that then the wind would still have an adverse effect on the noise and the audio wouldn't be clear at all. For that to work they would have to be loud to the point where it could break the iceberg through the vibrations caused. Also you couldn't get a drum sound that clear from one microphone.
