It appears that this style of shower curtain has a gap between the curtain and the tiled wall. Water will splash everywhere.

Now, back to answering my question - the video demonstration shows that when your curtain is lowered, there is a gap on both the far left and right sides. The gap begins at the outer edge of the curtain, over to the tiled wall. It's the same gap found when using a typical shower curtain. This gap leaves water during a shower. A glass door eliminates the gap bc the entire space between the two tiled shower walls has a glass door which closes up against a vertical rubber piece.
