Struggle after struggle, year after year The atmosphere's a fine blend of ice I'm almost stone cold dead In a town called Malice, ooh yeah A whole street's belief in Sunday's roast beef Gets dashed against the Co-op To either cut down on beer or the kids new gear It's a big decision in a town called Malice, ooh yeah The ghost of a steam train echoes down my track It's at the moment bound for nowhere just going round and round Playground kids and creaking swings Lost laughter in the breeze Could go on for hours and I probably will But I'd sooner put some joy back in this town called Malice, yeah ooh In this town called Malice, yeah In this town called Malice, ooh yeah

@TheJohnRowley Жыл бұрын
@@sirandrelefaedelinoge Wow, you really know your stuff! Thank you. I couldn't find much on Steve but more on Keith - that he used to play in bands on the Old Kent Road. I lived around there in the early 2000s and it was pretty rough even then - back in the 80s it would have been a rough and tough place to be I'm sure, with plenty of gangsters. Just down from there near Burgess Park on the Walworth Road I once met old murderer gangster Frankie Frazer at a bicycle shop - the owner introduced me to him like he was royalty and before I knew what i was doing I was shaking his hand saying pleased to meet you - I remember walking off confused thinking 'But he's a murderer.. what was I doing?' Anyway, I digress. Keith Thomas has now passed away but it was interesting to find out he was the sax and flute player for them at this time seeing as he's just there with a tamborine for this - I knew he was more than that looking at this video somehow!

In the last 60 years there were about 3 "great" eras..From about 1962,Beatles,Stones,and what was like a briliant new band almost every month making classic music,to about 1975.Then about 1977 to about 1985 we had Punk,New Romantic...Then it was all one hit wonders etc.Then in the mid-90s came the "Brit Pop" Era,Oasis,Blur etc....Then after about the year 2000-it sank into American R&B,HipHop,and vile "rap"...For over 20 years there has been nothing in the way of new trends.Its all just throwaway,download,listen,delete.Nothing released much since 2000 will ever be called "Classic"...?

I love the jam… they educated me when thatcher wanted us dumb… i love all sorts of music and variety but if I had to remove every song, ever written, leaving only 10 I’d end up with 10 Jam songs… down i the tube station is possibly the best song ever written and the haunting last lines of they took the keys and she’ll think it’s me and the implications to that is possibly the most harrowing ending to any song ever This along with that’s entertainment are just gods work…(I can now think of at least 20 songs as good the rote😂
