The parents were out of line. They needed to accept the fact that the older sister was MANY years older and had friends very close to her own age who were also many years older and as a teenager she needed time to be with her friends. The parents needed to accept that the younger child would NOT always be included. Not giving the older sister her time to just be with friends her own age was a failing on THEIR part.
