It's not entirely a myth, but it's still not a good idea. The idea is that the acid in urine will inhibit the bits of stinger cells clinging to your skin from injecting the remainder of their venom. The problem is that most people have very low acid in their urine, and some, particularly vegetarians, even have alkaline urine, which will induce the clinging cells to release their venom as fast as possible. If you happen to have some vinegar near you, you should use that instead, but if not then seawater is the best option. Don't use fresh water, as that will also activate the cells that release venom. Seawater doesn't activate them, because otherwise jellyfish would be releasing venom into the water constantly. TL;DR: Always apply alkalines and fresh water to jellyfish stings and rub the area vigorously to thin out the poison, licking your fingers regularly to apply saliva.

I very much disagree with you, politely, but I don't have a lot to back up my argument. It's not a build up to something. It's a ridiculous scenario that an odd, funny man finds himself in. Jerry Lewis didn't build up to anything. He didn't say or do things that always made sense, but he did things that got a laugh. Even though you know what the scenario is, it's the technical things (facial expressions, pauses, intonation) that makes it funny. At least, that's my opinion. I could be wrong.
