On a more serious note, I relate to you. My JW brother is still in. But I’m an apostate. When I heard that they could say hi now, I waited and waited for my brother. But then I heard no, not me. I’m an apostate. Why? Because in the 70’s I disagreed with the No Blood Doctrine. I hear you. Their sudden “warming up” to people is all pretend.

@@TB-oh8zl true there had never been an explicit condemnation about vaccines and the articles and letters in the Golden Age were pretty representative of a lot of worldly doubts and propaganda about vaccines but they weren't any sort of official stance. If I recall correctly in 1944 everyone at bethel had to get vaccinated. The famous 1952 questions from readers want setting any sort of dictate, it was a clarification. But it was asked for a reason - very many JWs believed vaccination was against God's commands. I wonder where they got that idea from? You modern JW apologists are right about a lot of things but if you continue to assume any god has anything to do with such history you're pretty deluded. Everything Watchtower does promotes a benefit to their corporations. And there's nothing inherently wrong with that either. But don't tell me this is about any divine blessing.

Those clowns of the Watchtower Society are shooting themselves in the foot. If they are having to deal with the mounting lawsuits for failing to remove sexual abusers from their congregations and report them to police for their crimes as soon as they happened, it means they brought those lawsuits upon themselves. More and more women (and men) who were molested as children but were not believed, or were punished, are now taking them into Courts. Women are beginning to report Domestic Abuse and people who have witnessed loved ones dying because of the No Blood Doctrine are attempting litigation, though this is touchy, because if the adult consented to die...? But if it was a parent who allowed a child to die, they may be an accessory to a child’s death. Courts are now attempting to take a child from parent’s custody temporarily on an Emergency Order so the child’s life can be saved, then if appropriate, return the child after full recovery if warranted. If the timing is off and that Emergency Order cannot be gotten in time, and the child dies due to the parent’s adherence to the ever-changing Governing Body, then believe me, that Medical Staff grieves terribly. They are trained to save lives and then along comes a JW and throws life away because of nine old confused men in New York. It is tragic. But yes, JWs who are leaving are beginning to bring the atrocities and abuses to Courts now. Women are snapping out of their submission roles as well, especially as the men go deeper into alcoholism to cope with the stresses WT incurs.

My jw dad recently passed away. He didnt like the changes. He couldnt work out why the gb were changing things. My mum is still very much in the jw. I wasnt shunned as i was never baptised but it definitely put a wedge in our relationship. We spent last week together and discussed a lot and she realises im not a bad person, i still believe in jesus but i dont agree with the gb. Dads funeral was held at the local hall, the one i grew up in. I have many tattoos and piercings and i could see and feel the judgement but i was there for my mum and to remember my dad. A lot of the people i grew up with came and hugged me. Their congregation is a lovely one, the people there are very helpful and kind. But i dont agree with organisated religion. Like i told my mum, god will judge me and see into my heart. I dont need some men in new york telling me how to live my life.

In reference to the governing body’s “superpowers” - I brought this up with the JW’s when they were at my door. I have never been a JW nor ever a part of their organization. My response to them was: If the governing body are the only one’s who can interpret the Bible, then why is God allowing the Bible to be sold in secular bookstores, without a GB disclaimer verse written within?

Do you not think, even though he converted to Christianity, his country could have called him up to war at any given moment? Romans fought a lot of wars with Germanic Barbarians. Because of JW Leader Zeal thousands of JWs had served over thousands of years in prision in total (throughout the earth.) No blood: yet blood symbolises the importance placed on life. Even old Rabbi leaders instructed Jews suffering extreme poverty to break fasting and to even break the sabbath if they were so hungry that the only food to come into their hands happened to fall on sacred days. Because the Rabbies held life in high regard (more so than Standard Laws). Zeal without knowledge. Please, please research and stop listening to these crazy bastards...

During Covid , I had the opportunity to read and study the Bible (not the Bible JW'S wrote to align with its doctrine). A Bible written 1611 and prior... and see for yourself that 97% of what we were taught was sheer BS. The scripture they used to make us believed that they were the F&DS ... if you read that entire chapter within content, you will see that there's no way in hades could that have been talking about these men in NY.
