The Jep Intervention, Prodigal Son Al, Dealing with Rebellious Teens & Mean Religious People | Ep 87

  Рет қаралды 99,409

Phil Robertson

Phil Robertson

Күн бұрын

Phil, Jase, and Al answer a question about how to handle teenage rebellion. Al describes Phil and Kay's surprising reaction when he returned after living a heathen life in New Orleans, and Phil recalls the Jep Robertson intervention. Phil also talks about getting away with more as you age, Jase points out that the power of the Bible isn't in memorizing and repeating verses, and the guys discuss why mean, judgmental religious people are missing the point.

A rebellious son. I am learning all about it. It is hard breaking! 💔I don't think it's about church attendance though but about reverencing the Creator and what Scripture says to be true and right. Please pray for my dear son,18, who is not in a good place. 🤰👦👨❣️

Y'all know that people on here complaining about you younger ones interrupting Phil , right ? Well , I love the podcast and don't want it to go away ! Phil says it himself he wasn't there much for his boys till he found the Lord. That doesn't command respect from the kids. I think maybe it's a bad habit with Jase overtalking his father. Plus he calls him by his name instead of his title of dad! I don't think they even see it as disrespectful ! Al calls him dad and don't interrupt near as much . If Phil don't care then I don't....I just like all three of them sharing their soul food with me !

I love it that you have an interest in hearing about the Lord , so many your age don't ! I'll be 75 in 2 weeks so I guess people my age feel like we should have a voice in this world of social media too! Guess you did'nt read the end of my post....I like all 3 of them sharing their soul food with me! God delivered me from tobacco withdrawal. Haven’t smoked in 2 years. God helped me through withdrawal from pot when I surrendered and in obedience gave that up a year ago. God helped me stop watching pornography, which wasn’t an addiction, but something I would do and always feel so filthy. Thats been 3 years. God helped me kick my Facebook addiction a year ago. It’s been a difficult but satisfactory and extremely fulfilling road being in relationship with God. I am not just saying this. I am not kidding around. My life was a rotten dirty mess 5 years ago. It’s taken a lot of pain and tears of my own doing to get where I’m at today. God was there each and every moment and I cannot wait to see what happens next! Surrender. SURRENDER!

I overheard my niece say in a conversation that Jesus wasn't perfect and I stood up and said "What?" My wife told me to sit back down because she knew I was pissed at what I just heard. My niece was raised by my very far left sister that follows progressive Christianity. I couldn't deal with it anymore and don't talk to my sister because she claims to hate all republicans on her facebook and I just don't need my family to be around that. It really hurts because my other niece almost died in the hospital and we all prayed with my pastor and I knew there would be a miracle and she would live. I remind my niece all the time it was a miracle and she say's she knows. It's a shame because she is distant from her mom (my sister) and has been reaching out to us. There are problems way worse than ours but I had to share that story because you guys sharing your stories pulled it out of me somehow.

One of the most down to earth bible teachings a man can sit under....it's all about Jesus. If you know Him you are saved - if you don't know Him you must seek Him and find Him before it is too late to do so. Know Him and put your faith/trust in Him and you can praise and worship Him throughout eternity. Accept Him today for He is coming back again real soon. God Bless.

I totally Agree 👍 100% w/Jase about bringing your children to God's Grace! I pray 🙏 for him daily! I was initially born & raised in the Catholic Church. Then as a young, married woman, raising my son 💙 by myself...When I was just 20yrs of age during a Sunday Easter Mass, while everyone was standing there was something that the Priest said that I couldn't believe was TRUE & FACTUALLY According to God, I picked up my son & walked out to never return. I am Very Spiritual & Faithfully believe in God! But I also knew the Catholics way is the WRONG WAY to be Saved by CHRIST! So I tried my absolute best to point my son to Christ but he STILL hasn't "Got it" @ age 24! I'll NEVER GIVE UP MY FAITH! I'm Grateful that he's read The Bible & every other religion out there but as he's grown up he's settling on Buddhism ☸. I'm grateful for my own Christian ✝️ Faith! Even though my son just moved back home w/me but he still doesn't get 😕 it! He still has his God given healthy body so he STILL can find JESUS! I pray for his Soul multiple times a day just keep 🙏 he praying & have FAITH he'll find God SOON!!

The way in which y'all apply scripture to actual issues that we all encounter in our daily lives is so useful and productive. I won't write what each of you pointed out and explained....it would be too much to write here....I just hope everyone listening REALLY heard those messages because I feel like y'all each shared some wisdom that is immeasurable in our walk as Christians.... and definitely explanations that I know I will be passing on. He said, “There are 2 facts that CHRIST cannot do.” (Immediately, our congregation perked up) He then continued. “CHRIST can never change and HE cannot move. This means CHRIST, the Second PERSON of the HOLY TRINITY, can never change meaning never sin, and HE cannot move because HE is,....everywhere. Wonderful episode Phil & Company. It's not always easy to try to walk in the footsteps of our Lord. Some things do come easy with a bright positive disposition and a passing facility with the application of common sense, patience, the holy scriptures, and the confidence that comes with experience when counseling to ease the commonplace hardships that arise although sometimes it's the simple stuff that complicates itself exponentially given relatively few extenuating circumstances. One early morning I stepped onto the only subway car I could see that had space available only to find that the cause of that space was a disheveled man sprawled out on the floor of the car with all of his pant's pockets torn down to mid-calf, dried blood on his forehead, no jewelry on except for the light spots of skin where a ring or two and perhaps a watch had once been a shield against the Sun's rays. The man was unconscious with a fair pulse and respiration, no pupil dilation and no alcohol odor, he appeared to have been beaten and robbed of his valuables if one gave more than a passing glance at him. I tried to wake him, but he was unresponsive, and not knowing the possible extent of his injuries, I was careful not to move him unduly. I looked around at all the passengers that were still giving the scene a wide berth as though the injured man had a plague they'd likely catch if they got too close, and I asked, has not one of you noticed that this obviously injured man is in urgent need of help? ( Crickets), You could've heard a pin drop, but no one, not one person replied. After all, this man, no matter whether he wore a suit, rags, or nothing at all, was perhaps a father, a family man, and certainly a son, but most importantly he was a fellow human being in need of immediate medical and law enforcement attention. The overcrowded rush-hour train was packed with people anxious to avoid the ire of their bosses for tardiness and counting on smooth sailing all the way, so you can imagine the bad press that accumulated thickly around me when I notified the conductor and instructed him to radio ahead for the Medics and the Police to meet us at the next stop. Many were livid, especially when they were added to the already crowded platform at the next stop. My Boss was The NYC Dept. Of Corrections at the time, and although I had ample time to get to my post with time to spare on any given day, that day, unfortunately, stretched out a few hours past the start of my 7-3 tour in the form of paperwork, and due diligence on behalf of a fellow human being in need. Of course, the Brass wasn't at all thrilled with my choices that day and very clearly made that point as sharply as they could, while the NYPD officers and brass were much quicker with a complimentary statement and a passing smile. I'd do it again without hesitation knowing that if any of my loved ones were in such dire need, I'd hope there was at least one person out there who would kindly and swiftly see them to the care they need. Still, I'll never forget the chilly dispositions and stolid indifference I felt and witnessed among so many ordinary people on that day. Fortunately, Jesus and God our father are everywhere you look for them. They were with that man on the train, and they saved a spot for me knowing I'd be along directly.

Just as a side comment, if your kiddos don't come back to Jesus, as all of the Robertson boys did. The guilt of the parents of the wayward kids follow them even into elder years and very hard thing to deal with. I had a conversation with a dad of 5 in his 70's. Even though he was a Bible believing Jesus man, none of his children, or grand children were on a good path. All of them knew and were "learning, but never coming to knowledge of the truth." This is a hard reality for many of your followers. Your family is the hope. Not always the reality. Thanks guys, love you are spreading the Redemption Message. You are a Chosen voice in this time.

The best quick cures for inflammation is a teaspoon of turmeric in a drink. And applying Arnica cream after playing a sport. Taking Omegas daily also preventative.
