I was at the May 2nd concert in Detroit. If the band was pissed at other you'd never know it. It was the best show I ever saw. In my life. My buddies and I did something really stupid while Jimi was talking and introducing Hear My Train a Comin'. We yelled out "Play Wild Thing! Burn your guitar". Hendrix put his head down tightened his mouth and looked quite miffed. We were in the front row so he definitely heard us. Burn hey , who needed a burning guitar? The Experience was staggering from the moment Jimi opened with Spanish Castle Magic .

I had never heard of Little Miss lover being played live! And I want to live today, should be I don't live today. Tuscaloosa and Charlotte have the same exact clothing but I have diagnosed the patterns on the headband to tell them apart. Luckily we have a few color pictures. Indianapolis, providence, and Baltimore all have almost exactly the same clothing with Indianapolis having the longer headband. It is fun to figure out the little details that tell the gigs apart if you cannot see the stage well enough. Thank you very much for doing this videos! The photos ofJimi playing backstage at Madison Square Garden show the rare 1969 Flying V (2nd of 3) that was really only seen on the Lonnie Youngblood album cover besides this backstage appearance

Terrific as usual! You can really see that Jimi is starting to have a hard time with all the fame stuff. Also, its too bad that P.A systems were so poor in 1969. There's a reason he had those 3 Marshall stacks blazing.😋😋

I'm very happy the San Diego Sports Arena show got great reviews as I bought a cd of it & thought it sounded like a great show. I just wish I was old enough then to be able to comprehend how great the music & the performance was. My parents wouldn't have taken me to that show at 11 years old anyway.

At least Jimi acknowledged Chicago & Terry Kath even if the crowd was lost on them. Shame Terry & Jimi never got to do a album as they had talked about at one point & Jimi knew Terry was not one to toss aside as the critics seemed to not know how to handle them nor Jimi . How these fools kept their so called critic job is beyond me. I was hoping for a bit more on The Baltimore show as i have heard tapes & to those that were there it was a good show.

They didn't play Little Wing in San Diego, although the original album Hendrix In the West erroneously credits it and Voodoo Child SR as being from there. Any Hendrix fan worth their salt knows those 2 numbers were actually from February 1969's 2nd Royal Albert Hall show and that Mike Jeffery was simply trying to pull a fast one as executive producer of that record. I can't believe Noel actually thought they played here in San Diego, he sounds so bitter in this video.
