Way back around 2000 I saw Acid King w/High on Fire ...prior to their sets, the bar held an all ages show (don't ask me which bands played) but that show's idiot crowd left a mess and broken glass all over the floor ...so at one point Lori was removing debris and cut her finger badly. Did she bow out? ...hell no, she bandaged it up, took to the stage and played the set through! They were killer ...and btw, this was back when HOF was basically just starting out - they were promoting Art of Self Defense - and man they were _scary_ LOUD! ha ... fun show

She gets on stage in jeans, t-shirt and guitar, that's what she means. No tricks, no female super star or diva vibes (which is also totally fine). Guys are not drooling over her during the concerts because actually everyone is crushed by the doom! The cover of Free to me depicts that, freedom, a woman holding the helmet of her motorbike before embarking on a trip. Showing your belly is not inherently sexual, or it shouldn't be. But that's how the mind of most males work, see a bit of female flesh and think of sex. The cover of Down with the Crown depicting a naked woman with a pentagram on her body... well, it is a matter of symbolism. The naked body, in opposition to the Christian covered body, represents, again, freedom. That's the way Satan likes you, naked, not ashamed.

He's trying too hard and it comes across as a bit of a poser. It's okay to have recognizable divisions in rock music. If I go to see Acid King, I want to see a doom/stoner band opening rather than, for example, a power metal band.
