Mouthwashing is a wonderful means of explaining why I could never be a nurse, let alone have any responsibility for another person's medical health.
@Zift_Ylrhavic_Resfear6 сағат бұрын
Sorry but could you clarify something for a non native english speaker? Shouldn't it be : I can't do this little thing (have any responsibility), let alone this big thing (being a nurse)? Or am i confusing things? The expression "it is all but [insert adjective]" made me paranoid, because a literal interpretation would be "you could call it many things but not [insert adjective]" but i always see it used to mean "[insert adjective] perfectly describes it".
@Bendilin5 сағат бұрын
@@Zift_Ylrhavic_Resfear No. I am expressing that I feel incapable of doing tasks at a two different levels. I am not saying I can't have any responsibilities at all. My issue is responsibilities concerning another person's health.
@Asrahn5 сағат бұрын
@@Zift_Ylrhavic_Resfear The reverse where you present the larger thing first (being a nurse) with the smaller thing afterwards (responsible for someone else's health) is more self-deprecating. It effectively means you're saying "I should not have the big responsibility. In fact, I should not even have the small responsibility".
@Topcatyo.3 сағат бұрын
As mentioned in the earlier comment the”let alone BLANK” sentence structure says you’re not capable of task A , and Task B, while far less severe but related to Task A, is also too much for you. Task B, a less serious task, being too much makes Task A that many magnitudes worse

I like the sound of Still Wakes The Deep's design. A lot of horror games seem to just go, "Okay, you got the key/code/whatever. Now here's a monster! A-bloogy-bloogy-bloo! Better laboriously circumnavigate it and/or hop between hiding spots for the next five minutes." I would argue that it is perhaps _more_ frightening to have a monster (or some other danger) coming up behind you, making sure you _can't_ backtrack or get around it; pushing you forward, as it were, _into the unknown._ Which could be something even worse! Good stuff.

Honestly, looked forward to this more than the big executive "game awards" show. UFO 50 was a last-minute entry on my games list this year, but I can confidently say it might be my game of the decade. Not because of the sheer game quantity (and from an indie team?!), but the *love.* My god, the love. I can feel the love coming from *every* game included in the collection. What a game.

Pacific Drive is a strange one. Speaking as someone whose usual stance is "Ahaha, no, I don't play car games. I barely even touch GTA or Saints Row any more", I found myself unable to resist trying it. And it is sort of a car game and sort of not, with just the right balance to make me go "maybe _this_ type of car game can be kind of alright, then." A genre-block breaker, as it were. Rare thing, not perfect as such, but still quite impressive.
