Use the lock switch when mounting to the tripod! The "clicking" sound are the gears being flexed so you're actually damaging it.

can you use another smartphone to control the slider, and then be able to use the main camera/smartphone with a professional app such as filmicpro, and being able to have manual control over the video settings? also, how long is the fastest and slowest speeds in seconds/minutes? thanks

One question, is it possible to record with the vertical mobile? Yotra, can you record by putting the mobile subject to a cage, with an articulated arm? or it would weigh a lot, for the motor of movement, thank you very much.

Yes. You would need your own phone mount that rotates the phone vertically, and the weight won't be too extra for the device to handle. It should work absolutely fine! This is the one I'm talking about: geni.us/nBA7
