These are fantastic indendencec exercises... and very generously. demonstrated . Especially the quarter note triplets.....worth sticking with till you get it right!

Sam is a great teacher. He breaks things down in private lessons even more so than in a video.. This allows me to fully understand what and why I am playing. Without breaking it into small fragments I get lost. That’s one of the important reasons to take lessons. Now go practice!

I took drum lessons from Sam for 6 years while I was growing up, and he is a FANTASTIC teacher! In addition to giving me a great foundation for playing percussive music, he also taught me how to be creative by iterating on simple (yet deceptively difficult) patterns like the one displayed in this video. We also covered classical, jazz, Latin, and rock music, as well as other instruments like marimba and timpani. I highly recommend him if you’re looking for a teacher, he does virtual too!
