@@LionquestFitness I was wanting to go tonight to do an update review of the Taurus TX22 (which I bought 5 years ago today) but it's been raining here heavily.I've already got the shooting segments filmed but hopefully mother nature will be cooperative soon.I do miss going to the garage this time of year,especially making the "On The Bench,Under The Bright Light" segments.That's where it started for me at.And I do miss it.Thank you for remembering my friend.

He said it is kinda his go to move. It was actually a tea I think, but throwing a drink at or on someone distracts them, and overwhelms the OODA loop long enough to allow him in that case to draw.. i guess in other instances he'd do it at bar fights but it gives you that split second and may get in their eyes making it way harder to see you to ​stay in and win a gunfight @@tylermorrison7051

That hat trick is one of those things I think of less of a "trick" than the spontaneous act a man habituated to a life of violence can and will sometimes do. Such a man is dangerous with almost any implement. In the words of a modern day TV Western hero, _"It wasn't a move. I'm just meaner than you."_

Salut Greg, John Wayne was my hero, he was far from perfect however he was always true to his beliefs in every facet of life. My favourite John Wayne saying is " life is hard, it is even harder if you're stupid." I own a Winchester 1892 large loop in .357 / .38, which is the firearm that I most enjoy to shoot and I always appreciate that John Wayne used the 1892 model in many of his movies no matter the historic timeframe they portrayed , be it post Civil War "The Searchers" or whenever. He knew what he liked ...... enough said! Cordilement RB

Back in the day, 1969, when i was in Army basic training we spent two days on a range with BB guns learning what the Army called "Instinct Shooting" by the end of the two days most of us could hit a thrown poker chip consistently when Shooting from the hip. With practice one can master this type of Shooting.

I don't have a safe place to practice this as a drill using live ammunition. Ranges have annoying safety rules! On the plus side, you've just demonstrated a point I've been making for a long time now that a J-Frame revolver is a very good self defense option with a little bit of practice. The SAA replica should be easier to shoot accurately than the 640. And yet you performed equally well with both! Good video.

Two disadvantages with the SAA. I was drawing from a holster with a retention strap, and I had the extra step of cocking the revolver. Within ten yards point and shoot the snub becomes an extension of your hand. So you have a very valid point about the efficacy of a snub for close quarter self defense.

@@LionquestFitness I was mostly thinking of the SAA's very short and light trigger press. I get there are a few more motions. And I agree. Although someone who can wield an SAA effectively is still a formidable opponent in a one on one gunfight at modest distances. For bullseye shooting at 100 yards, I would want single action.

Actually the Daltons were shot down in Coffeyville Kansas and killed except Emmett Dalton who survived even though he was shot 23 time and was sentenced to life in prison for murder but was later pardoned on 1907 After prison he led a interesting life as preacher and actor in early films

For his draw they actually had the sixgun already in his hand to make him appear faster. He did not draw. that was a regular trick for him. one reason he wore his holster a bit back, so you didnt always see his draw.. That being said the Duke was still awesome in my eyes!

​@LionquestFitness hahaha. I was too quick on the draw! As soon as i saw your hat trick i commented. Then i as paul harvey used to say watched the rest of the story. Saw you explained and saw the video link. In his movies he carried at the 5 to 530 position which kept the gun easier to hide from his draws. In real life jerry lewis and sammy davis jr were extremely fast draws with a peacemaker. Some old videos of them doing tricks on stage during their routines
