Joseph and Martha Jordan, along with their young son Oscar left the Jim Crow South in 1882 and found peace, refuge, opportunity, and a home in Pullman. The Jordan family is one of a handful of Pullman families that we will highlight in the Pullman House Project, an immersive visitor experience. Visitors can take tours of the recreated homes of the former residents who worked for the Pullman Company in the 1880s, as well as walking tours of the neighborhood they lived in.
