Dear Shehzad, Thanks to you, Muzammil, I was able to unlearn loads and learn a lot more and this was learning, accepting mistakes about our history, our present gave a direction into what and how we will continue to dissect our political, social and economic news, how will we understand about our societal norms and how we will do our part to make things better because this is where we come from- I have been living in US for over 20 yrs but never learnt what Pakistan is all about through our textbooks, our misguided obsession with India, our cultural history, our roots - nothing! Thanks to TPE that I got the opportunity to learn so much more and so much improved within my inner core as a Pakistani - Today when I speak to an Indian I don’t feel the overwhelming urge to put them down - Today, I approach them with intellect, open mind, more empathy, more respect - Thanks for giving us all the path to knowledge that ultimately sets you free from state sponsored shackles of narratives -

Hope your tribe grows, I had mixed interactions with Pakistanis in US. I met well educated Pakistanis who hated India to the core and had all the misconceptions about Army particularly Musharaf when he was a dictator. However one taxi driver from Peshawar was so much matured and had such an intellect discussion. He know so much about India and history and he actually made me interested in looking into Pakistan.

Dear Shehzad, I am an Indian and absolutely love your podcast and am a regular listener. Your podcast has always been a great source of knowledge about Pakistan and it’s people.I had some idea of Palestinian struggle (much before October of 2023) and my sympathy was with them but I never knew the whole situation and of course had my prejudices as well. Or rather I never cared enough to learn more history about it. Your coverage on the Palestine crisis helped me move past my own prejudice to learn more and for that I will always remain grateful to you. Thank you Shehzad. And congratulations on 200k subscribers. Would love to see this go on but that can’t come at the cost of your health. Take care of yourself and do whatever is necessary for your well-being. Take a break if necessary. You will always have a listener in me (and many other like me) on KZbin.

Perhaps you should not base your perception of any one especially Israel and Palestine based on one source only especially one as biased as shehzad who while pretending to be neutral is actually not. Try looking into the counter narrative, like Indians are doing here to see what Pakistani nerrative is, but above all keep your mind open to "entertain the idea without accepting it". Like I said shehzad himself is very biased against Israel influenced by what he hears 24 hours against it. Israelis people are very nice and modern secular where Jewish is their ethnicity and not religion for majority of the Jews. Israel also has a large Arab population with equal rights so they're very well acquainted to both Palestine and Arab narrative... I would recommend @apostateprophet recent Israel trip to see the reality at ground instead of listening from a Pakistani about Israel.
@jojo_ranjan8 ай бұрын
@@karatekid7640 Ohh, this channel is neither my only source nor even my first source of information. It is one of the sources. I read and listened to different narratives about Palestine-Israel conflict before changing some of my previously held opinions. I was just thanking Shehzad for being apart of it not the sole reason. As I have mentioned in my comment my sympathies lied with Palestinian struggle even before Shehzad made a single video or even before October 2023. He didn’t change my stance but helped me move past my own inertia to read more about it to form a more informed opinion.
@karatekid76408 ай бұрын
@@jojo_ranjan that's good, if I may suggest a few more resources people should also listen to like - Hassan yousef ( who is son of Hamas leader), Gad Saad, Yasmine Muhammad, @apostateprophet, and Sam Harris ... All secular people and not biased against one religion or other. Trouble is with the backing of "ummat" and Qatari money, these zaid hamid ki aulaadein have become so good at spreading their fake narrative and organising protest that even UK parliamentarians have admitted they are afraid to speak out against them...
@jojo_ranjan8 ай бұрын
@@karatekid7640 And if I may suggest you some sources, Palestinian and Israeli commentators/activists themselves are good options too. Not that they will provide an unbiased view but nevertheless the views of people involved in the conflict. United Nations reports and diferrent media(from different nationalities with differing view points) reports would also help you understand the crisis from a more neutral perspective. But I personally believe that listening to the victims of oppression is essential and should hold more weight than those of the oppressors.

Hi Shehzad, I had unsubscribed a year back because of your mis-appreciation of the journey we Indians are on. I wished you had actually visited us and seen with your own eyes, how we are trying so hard to escape poverty d illiteracy and how closely we live together. India has some wrongs but plenty right and I was very disappointed with your desire to score points. Today however YT thre this on my recommendation list. I am sorry you look so tired and exhausted mentally. Far cry from the gentleman i had so enjoyed listening to for a few years. I really enjoyed your earlier podcasts, it was like a breath of fresh air. Was thankful to find Syed Muzammil through you, he I believe is one of the biggest thinkers of our side of the world, who is for the ages. Your podcasts on entertainment, books, with performers like Kullu, Ali AFtab are superb. I wish you could revert to your core strength of creative arts, since politics seems to have negative effect on you. I would gladly start watching. But anyway, So Long, and Thanks for All the Fish!

Like you also mentioned take academic standpoint and focus conceptually on issues and don't attack the powerful head-on. May be try a new format. Group the episodes into seasons and between seasons take a decent break... Bring more variety, not just politics but also include other issues like art, culture and comedy. Those episodes will act as food for your (and our) soul . We have to understand to what extent we can sustain being in the activist mode . Basically, don't burn away quickly Shehzad. Slow down a bit. I initially began listening to this episode and jumped straight to your discussion about your Europe trip, assuming that I had already heard your perspectives on the preceding topics. However, upon hearing the audience questions and your response, particularly regarding the toll it has taken on you and your desire to refrain from discussing politics and other worldly issues, I felt compelled to start the episode from the beginning again. It proved to be a valuable refresher, particularly on the topics of lashing out, polarization, and the exploitation of children for content on social and mainstream media. Hearing you recount TPE's journey allowed me to empathize with the social struggles you've endured and the impact they've had on your mental well-being, all for the sake of raising critical issues and offering constructive criticism. I've learned a great deal from your guests, particularly regarding our distorted history and how today's challenges are rooted in the founding of our country, as well as the failure of leadership to rectify past wrongs. You graciously acknowledged me as an ardent supporter of PTI (a genuine honor), although I playfully contend that you could never truly prove it. While I may have been occasionally critical in my comments, and perhaps perceived moments of bias or uneven treatment of guests, I've never doubted that your podcast operates with any agenda or external control. In closing, I'll certainly miss your podcast if you decide to end it, as it's been a staple during my morning walks. However, what truly matters is your well-being and your pursuit of a healthy, happy, and peaceful life ahead. My heartfelt prayers are with you always, wishing you continued happiness and health. Listening to you and Muzammil, break down the nuances of Pakistani politics, religious radicalization, and moral bankruptcy of the society, and the conversations you have with your guests on TPE, has definitely given me a different lens of looking at things. I do not agree with a lot of things you say. I don't agree with a lot of things Muzammil says. I do listen to Engineer Muhammad Ali Mirza and I do listen to Sahil Adeem. I don't agree with many things that they have said. But just the fact that listening to the TPE podcasts have pushed, if nothing else, me and many others like me to at least allow our minds to explore and think in a new, and a different direction, in addition to our pre-conceived notions. And I think, it's more than enough, that a podcast or a channel could do. I sincerely hope TPE never stops having these difficult conversations, but I do understand and in some way, relate to the mental stress you must be feeling. Hope you feel better, because you are at least hopeful for the future of Pakistan, and I hope, that this hope never dies!

Hello Shehzad, I have followed your podcast for a very long time but this is my first and probably last comment anywhere online. I could not stop myself but send some good vibes your way for the work that you’ve done over the last five years in a country and society which is generally hostile to progressive views. You’ve introduced me to some great minds over the years, your podcast has been a beacon of insight and inspiration, and your courage in standing up for what you believe in is nothing short of commendable. Listening to the last couple of podcasts, especially this one, Bro, I am really concerned about your well being, I can see the darkness in your eyes and it is disheartening. Please know that your well-being is paramount, and it’s okay to take a step back when needed. Your health, both mental and physical, is the most important aspect of life, and nothing should compromise that. I also believe that life’s perspectives evolve with significant milestones, such as becoming a parent. The arrival of children has a profound effect on one’s outlook, bringing new depths of understanding and compassion. It’s these moments that remind us of what truly matters. This is why I am so glad that you want kids and are looking to get settled in the near future. Please take care of yourself. Your listeners value you not only for your work but for the wonderful person you are. We are here for you, cheering you on every step of the way.

1:26:11 Shehzad, you need a virtual assistant at this point now. I have been working professionally as an online assistant for the past 13 years for people in the US facing similar situations. I would have loved to volunteer my time, but I am at the stage in life where I am giving one final push to make big bucks. But you should think about getting someone, maybe someone from the audience that could volunteer, someone who could sort, remove, and prioritize social interactions, keeps cleaning yt comments , and helps keep a calendar for you.

Your take on society in general is strictly through an urban lense. Wish you would take on board educated people from rural backgrounds too.Such as your own land Sindh to give the viewer a flavour of how 75% people of this country live out their lives.

Do you criticise actors doing the accent ? Or using stereotypical ideas about a race?
@ThePakistanExperience9 ай бұрын
They both tie in together, they are just playing a caricature
@NomadsLost9 ай бұрын
@@ThePakistanExperience Okay. But I think sometimes doing an accent is the essence of the character. And it’s not always to mock that community. For example, in 12th Fail movie, the actor is doing an accent and is intentionally shown in a darker complexion, to depict that specific community from a village. In my opinion, it was not degrading, on the other hand it shows the lengths the director went to keep this authentic. Another example is Downton Abbey. The servants had Northern accent, and had accent coaches to make it as authentic as possible. And this is what makes it closer to authenticity of a period drama/movie. And there are many many more such examples… I mean, you’ve your own opinion, but I think the context matters. I do agree k stereotyping Nahi hone chahye, especially in a degrading way.
@ThePakistanExperience9 ай бұрын
When you work on a character you work on the accent, Austin Butler worked on his accent for months for Elvis to fully get into the character. What I was saying his our actors have a generic Pathan accent that they do for every character, which doesn’t sound like real people.
@NomadsLost9 ай бұрын
@@ThePakistanExperience Yeah…I agree. So context matters. For example. If the character is from a village near DG Khan, that person is bound to have an accent when speaking another language. It’s only natural. That character can be shown to spreak Saraki with his family members and then speaking in urdu with an accent. Which is not uncommon/unnatural. This is how the society is. So, I would say it is authentic if done in a respectful and tasteful way. Some people will still label it stereotypical and offensive.

Congratulations Shehzad Ghias for completing 200k followers however, completing this milestone comes with more responsibilities as at this stage, followers force and try to impose their personal opinions on the content creator and the content creator comes under influenced to keep his followers. I hope this will not be the case with you. About the COVID-related talk, I would like to share my experience. I had 8 to 10 times covid although I am vaccinated almost 4 to 5 times with every kind of vaccine. While friends of mine who never got any vaccine at all have no COVID for a single time. This made me suspicious of the reliability of the vaccine as I am extra careful, use masks always keep my distance, and have a hygienic lifestyle while people who didn't follow any such thing not have COVID for a single time.
