I really really like asiatic reflex bows and I like shooting them even more and so I really like this video....but what these guys are doing is not research, you simply cannot do comparison tests without controls like one guy shooting one bow and a different guy shooting the other , the difference in shooting style, form and technique makes a huge difference in the bows output and energy imparted to the arrow even with one archer doing both bows the data must be statistical and the part where they anchor the bow and then draw it to failure isn't a measure of anything except flexibility and would largely depend on each bows draw weight which appear to be different not to mention that it helps to have an actual archer doing the test shots , if you want real research that has both historical and modern significance with real data there's really only one man to look to and that's Dr. Murat Ozveri

Ad causa testudo... The Testudo was not only formed as a front -and uponshieldwall....in some cases the discribed protection was used caused in lack of Legioniers. The Huns were often enough beaten by men, weaponed with crossbow maybe with second armory spear, longknife, etc. and shield.....if your shield is thick enough, like a Pavese plus a crossbow, a dual team plus in a normal Testudoformation.....guess who would win????I love my 3 reflexbows , all made in traditional craftsmenship( 50#, 70#,80#),and I enjoy every minute in horsebackarchery.....but to be frank......a modern crossbow with over 400 or 450 fps makes me also happy....and without modern crossbows ...behind cover, even a beltcocked crossbow could ever be devastating thing....it is ridiciolous too compare a crossbow with a reflexbow.....it's like to compare a sniperrifle with an AK.....

I wonder whether javelin throw was Inspired by throwing spears. Spears are like long arrows which don't need bows.

Huns were Central Asian Nomadic Tribal confederacy mostly consisted of Turkic tribes along with other non-Turkic nomads. All Hunnic names we know so far are mostly Turkic-origin words for example (Dengizik, Uldız, Balamir, Octar)
