The Journey to a Circular Economy Starts Here

Tri-State Resource Recovery has installed new, high-speed robotic sorting equipment that will reduce waste going to our landfill while generating additional revenue. The robotic arm can sort up to 80 pieces of plastic #5 polypropylene per minute, providing valuable plastic feedstock to Berry. Reusing plastic generates about half as much greenhouse gas emissions, which is also good for the environment. The robotic sorting system is funded with a $150,000 grant from Berry and a matching grant from the Indiana Department of Environmental Management.
