Please don't learn from this lady, she doesn't seem to know what she's doing. It's just a stunt and she's trying to make some bucks using samskritam. If you want just give her the money she needs but go to a proper teacher. Yea, btw the organization samskRita bhaarati should be able to help you, for classical samskritam but you need to find a veda paNDit to learn vedic samskritam, they are different. She probably learnt some sanskrit grammar and went into vedic sanskrit. Please don't encourage her

many Indians don't know samskRtam doesn't mean you go to some unqualified teaching it just for monetary purposes. there are so many don't know physics, but that doesn't mean you go to someone who learnt physics from, say, newspaper articles, of course, unless you are not interested in learning real physics fundamentals. btw, samskrita bhaarati has even free immersion camps to learn it (classical samskRtam) properly.

We used this prayer as kids at school before eating food. That was 35 years back. It’s beyond my mind how this was written hundreds of years back and as per vedas perhaps thousands of years back. It’s still very relevant today. All it says is we all are same and let’s be together and experience the life journey. Line by line meaning is much more beautiful and generic for humanity and for any living life.

@school of philosophy... Yes, the racial changed the whole meaning, _amRitam_ is deathless, or immortal. It's changed it into its direct opposite _mRitam_ meaning death or mortal. Here death doesn't mean the death we ordinarily mean, the death of the body. It means the cycle of birth and death we go thru and in the process suffering or unhappiness. So, the shloka says: 1) lead me from falsehood (this impermenant world) to Truth, that's permenant 2) lead me from darkness (i'm surrounded with in this world beacause of which I don't know Self) to brightness (the knowledge of Self), and 3) lead me from mortal to immortal. While I appreciate the efforts of Ms. Sanskrit, I think it's important to retain the original meaning and purport is understood clearly. One more correction.... the ending 'shaanti' invocation in 'puurNamadam' mantram has a different intonation from the 'shaanti' invocation in other mantra, something special just for this mantra. The *first* syllable (or beginning) of all three 'shaanti' is anudaatta (lowered) and no swarita anywhere, including the ending of last 'shaanti', unlike Ms. Sanskrit teaches here. In other upaniSad, *ending* of first two 'shaanti' are anudaata (lower tone) and *ending* of last 'shaanti' is with swaritam (raised tone). Our (traditional vedic) teachers make a special note of this. Please teach and learn properly. Even changing the tone changes the meaning - like the most quoted passage from taitriiya upaniSad where the intention of the yaagam was to beget a son to kill 'indra', by changing the tone, the mantra was changed to mean to beget a son to be killed by 'indra'. Please be careful...

When you are chanting or in the sentence it's ' mrtyormaamrtamgamaya' and it's perfect. If you split the sentence, then it is 'mrtyormaa amrtamgamaya'. It's by the sandhi rule of sanskrit

@Hemant1.
@Hemant1. 3 жыл бұрын
. . . one addition after my comment 2 seconds ago. Madam, You are chanting Perfectly well. Excellent. (But except one word). . . . Mrutyornma "AMRUTAM" Gamay . . . The right word is AMRUTAM. Please say AMRUTAM. In Devnagri script it is pronounced as " अमृतं गमय " . That letter "अ" is very crucial to for the meaning. It just cant be omitted. Please consult some Sanskrit scholar on this if needed. AMRUT is like the Nectar of Life. The seekar is saying : Oh Almighty Creater (God), please take me from Death to Mukti (Liberation) through my good thoughts and good deeds. Take me from Darkness to Light. (And many other pious words). Rest of your chanting is flawless. Thank You.

Namaste 🙏🏻 She doesn’t omit the initial A of “amrtam”, she just merges the two A sounds of the two words: “mṛtyormā'mṛtaṃ” … Sanskrit is a very melodic and elegant language and words are modified or blended like this to create a smooth transition from one word to the next.

This feels like a course in a drama school. This lady has a clear voice, explains well but is clinical. What's lacking is a certain religious spirit/heart or feeling. It's a western interpretation of sanskrit, which breaks things down and loses the intangible holistic quality. An analogy is the difference between digital music and analogue.
