I can't express this enough... I've missed you. Regardless of if its covers, originals, or comedy.. man... its weird to think about but, I constantly think about falsetto

Mate, that's so great. Falsetto lives on inside all of us... I appreciate you.

Huge fan, Matt! And I'm not the only one. Super excited to see where you take your artistry. Can't wait to see what you do next. :)

Yus! Hopefully world domination. But also just making some sick tunes would be cool too. Thank you!

So many have said it better than I. Been subbed to you since the beginning with the recorder music to the collabs to now. Great to see you. Looking forward to seeing more!

Hi there Matt, I'm a huge fan of your work, the funny and the serious. I'm a loyal follower of yours, from México:)

I signed up for Nur Ein (a songwriting contest) this year & had fun. Had to do 8 songs in 8 weeks. Another contest coming up is 4 songs in 8 weeks, I'm going to give it a try as well. You should try something like that. It's kinda fun having a deadline, and being given a challenge. You also get a panel of judges to review your song which is kinda cool as well.
@MattMulholland3 ай бұрын
That's sick! Did you have to have a finished product? Or were they just after demos each time?
@Spintown3 ай бұрын
@@MattMulholland It just depends. It's a contest, so the more polished it is, the better your chances each round. But most people sign up just to do it for fun. You maintain all rights to the work, so you can always go back after the contest & polish it if you just do a rough demo. I signed up & used it as a way to make silly Minecraft songs for my channel. So whatever challenge they gave me, I gave myself the added challenge of connecting it to Minecraft. Spoiler...I got eliminated after 5 songs, so the judges were not huge Minecraft fans. lol I did the final 3 rounds even after being eliminated just for fun.

@@Spintown shit yeah man. That’s great! Good on you. I’m currently doing a self imposed challenge of releasing a song every month. The biggest challenge so far has been on the production side, trying to make things sound as good as I can without losing my mind over it.

I love this. What a great concept for a video, letting us peek a bit into your creative process. Just seeing you be so happy about the cool sounds makes me smile. I guess at this point you know that your audience is anything but homogenous, but there is certainly a good chunk of hobby musicians in here. And we absolutely love this kind of content.

I've had a bunch of your tunes in my music library for like 8+ years now, so It's great to see ya back on the Utubes with some behind the scenes stuff. The hours I would waste just messing with those plugins if I had your talent. I did buy a midi piano and online lesson course, so I can hopefully jam a little more at least. I always assumed you were proficient at all the instruments you play, it's encouraging to find out you're making it up to some degree lol.
@MattMulholland3 ай бұрын
haha oh man, I reckon making it up is the best bit. I know some things, but I don't know WAY more. Stoked you got a midi piano, even just learning a couple of chords will get you cranking like 80% of the music that's out there!

I write songs as a hobby, but I don't like songwriting. It's always tedious, and there's no inspiration ever. I guess I'll just leave it to someone else. Really cool video though! Great to see you, Matt.
@MattMulholland3 ай бұрын
Yeah man, totally. No point in forcing shit I reckon. I'd probably leave the mixing and engineering to someone else if I could, and one day hopefully I will!

Yoooo! What happened to balls to mouth man?! It's a cult classic
@MattMulholland3 ай бұрын
Man, it was great, but I just found it difficult to push myself to industry types or people at gigs when I had to be like “yeah I’ve got heaps of music online, but like, don’t look at the stuff from ten years ago, look at what I’ve done recently” and then that sort of stuff would be the first things that come up when you googled me. So mostly I made them private in an attempt to help my current career. I have no issue putting them up on a different channel or something though, I could call it like Classic Matt or something haha.

Look up the Swam vsts, probably the best fake solo brass and string instruments with insane level of performance you can inject into the playing

They have a mouthpiece that translates your embouchure for the expressiveness
@MattMulholland3 ай бұрын
Yeah I've seen those! That mouthpiece is wild. I almost got one their solo violin or cello once, but I remember it being wildly expensive. I use the East West stuff for strings and solo strings. It's... Okay. Haha.
