hey its the original creator of Hextashards rooms of terror here (i changed my name yeah) the game has been broken for about 2 years unfortunately and i personally dont have the scripting prowess to go into the old ktoh scripts the area select used to fix it myself, and i dont have the money to commission someone to do so, and my only scripter friends are busy with their own projects or college its crazy to think that even with a look at hrot thru old videos showing the (HORRIBLE) old area 2 lobby that it was still considered high quality, and thats thanks to all the devs that poured so much effort into the game i made hrot just after i had turned 14, and now im just two months off of my 18th birthday, its crazy to think that its almost 4 years old now, ive tried to bring it back a couple of times, hence the recent seeming updates to the place, but all of those attempts have fallen through, i just dont have the connections i had at 14 to get people to play a fangame anymore

former EUT dev here, I'm surprised anyone still remembers this game I gotta be honest. even if nowadays it doesn't hold up at all (and admittedly kind of sucked even back in the day), I still had a lot of fun working on it with eviled and other people like aubrey and icosa. I'll put some bullet points about the game and it's development: - the rainbow spire (the game's hardest tower, located in ring 4) is physically impossible due to a jump on the last floor. we were never good enough to playtest it so it kinda just went unnoticed (edit: this has been fixed in a patch I did after making this comment) - a lot of the towers were originally built in hangout games we frequented using f3x building tools, and then eventually were compiled into what would become the first couple of rings. tower of epic was the first one we made - the game's code, from kits to the tower victory handler was all done by eviled - the only jtoh thing we used was the music system - there are a buttload of secrets hidden throughout the lobbies to the point where I'm unsure if I'm even aware of all of them myself - ring 5 nearly completed development before we eventually lost motivation and gave up - one of the funniest ideas we had was 'Edifice of Vertigo Chairs' where there was no tower frame and it was just a bunch of giant chairs stacked on top of eachother - we came up with the idea of a 'secret exit' for a tower before jtoh did but weren't able to implement it before we lost motivation to work on the game - my favorite tower in the game is steeple of aurora polaris (kinda biased because I helped make it) - me and eviled eventually went on to become founding developers of the game 'find the markers', and aubrey went on to create her own jtoh fangame in the form of Ring 11 (which is not on this iceberg) - It's pronounced 'Evil Ed' thanks for covering the game, and I'm glad you were able to find some form of enjoyment out of it. maybe one day we'll make a sequel

eut mentioned thank the lord🙏 this game legitimately means a lot to me and was where i got to learn how to built towers and where i got to know better one of my longest lasting friends ever so it really does warm my heart to see you mention it here it may not be up to modern day standards but genuinely this game was such a blast to work on whenever it was still active some of the devs still stuck around the jtoh scene, especially including myself since ive lately been chasing the joy of creation i had when building towers for eut even if the best area in the entire game is zone 2 this game is genuinely such an interesting piece of jtoh history, being one of the first jtoh fangames and having such a weird and unique structure, so i highly reccomend you go check it out for yourself :3

I have pretty old (and very bad) videos on EUT I enjoy fangames which are old, and EUT preserves some stuff thats lost in fangames. What it lacks in quality it makes up in history and stories

dude EUT is a throwback… I made some of the earilest towers on there and I’m a dev!! haha it’s a collection of old towers me, eve, and some other pals made with a kit that worked whenever inserted in a roleplay game we used to be in a lot! we had a lot of fun making it

Enjoyment is the #1 thing about obbies so thats something that makes EUT so unique. Even if it isn’t a joke fangame, it is uniquely flawed and I enjoyed playing through some of it again

Nice, I’ve been waiting for this one. Here’s some clarifications on a few things you weren’t quite sure about regarding SSS: 10:43 the games life just naturally fizzled out after Biome 3 released, this was both in part due to me losing interest in the game and JK’s Pathetic Steeples being revived, which redirected all of the traffic going to the game. That message was left in the description because I wanted to try and redirect the little traffic the game was getting into my other games. 12:42 there was never a joke subrealm in the game, what you are referring to is the April Fools Event which for some reason had badges for every tower. I didn’t know how to script at the time but if I were to do that event again nowadays then I’d use datastores for in place of those. Working on SSS taught me a lot about development, mostly that I’m horrible at community management. X0D I still do look back on most of the times I had with the game quite fondly though, they were simpler times. Thank you for including my game.

One last statement that I want to add about POoI: Area 3 of the game has actually RECENTLY RELEASED despite the game being discontinued. The area had quite a bit of development before Area 2 even released! But anyways, consider Area 3 as a true final farewell of the game. The game has been dead long enough, so we may as well finish what we had already started. :)

thank you for your opinion on the great tower adventure, the first ring is often called out for being absolute garbage so im suprised you didnt bash me for it (all the other rings are actually kind of decent tho lol) also we are revamping most the game to be a bit less basic by adding more towers and stuff to older rings (yeah)

I just wanna add new things to Algodoorix. He created a new tower game called "Nostalgic Towers of Hecc" which as the name suggests is classic themed. The towers are around 5 to 6 floors (which is steeples but they are not called steeples) The game is bad but actually fun to play.
