Ah, yes. The plane that makes 5.7-6.3 for the germans unplayable. 3-4 of these things on average in every german team I get, and I have to face constant 1v2s and 1v3s against Spitfires, Mustangs, Hornets and F2Gs in a Bf-109 G-10. It's not that it wouldn't be viable, I've gotten used to having to carry matches during the time I've played german planes, but unfortunately most of the german fighter pilots at 5.7 still have zero skill. Having to face a numerical disadvantage can be fun, but after a while it just gets frustrating. The worst thing is these things don't even bleed the enemy team's tickets all that well, making them completely useless and a waste of space for a team. It's certainly Gaijin's fault to make this thing the most viable 6.0 SL grinder for noobs who can't succeed with german fighters, but damn do I hate people who play it.

As a retort, what about the few people who actually help there team in it? I was in a match yesterday and a squad of two of these things flew at a lower altitude with me. We got swarmed by 3 p51s and 2 spits, I got heavily damaged and one of the 288s got shot down. As I limped back to base, the one 288 remaining escorted me back to base. Everything has two sides. It’s a great silver lion grinder, why not use that to your advantage? Is it a crime to wanna grind faster? Ya you can do it with other vehicles, but if you enjoy the play style of this over another plane, who is to judge you? Everyone has something they like, and if it’s this broken bomber, oh well. Complaining about it on a random KZbin video’s comments solves literally nothing.

@@battleship5555 yes there are the few cases when they down a fighter or two. But wouldn't it be better if their slots were taken up by fighters instead? Currently bombers are useless in the game, nothing more than dead weight, it's fighters and attackers that win games. Saying a Ju-288 is good just because out of a hundred matches one time a bomber escorts you back to a base is almost like saying the Po-2 was a good plane, and definitely was good for the koreans because a braindead jet pilot stalled himself out and gave the Po-2 a maneuver kill. There is a fucking reason why german teams lose 80% of their games, and that reason is that every fighter in the german team has to go up against 2-3 enemy fighters at once, while the Ju-288s run around the map and don't even cause enough damage to counter the ticket bleed enemy attackers (like AD-4s) inflict. These bombers are only good for one thing, to enable noobs who suck at playing fighters to get SL and RP. Nothing more. Get your head out of your ass.

The Ju 288 is my favorite bomber to hunt in a hornet. The speed differential is nearly non existant but a hornet with altitude can definitely catch up. It's just a matter of dodging those cannons and getting clean hits that makes the Ju 288 so fun to hunt, and they're so plentiful too.

there will never be a day where i dont hate the Ju 288. i cant enjoy my 5.7 german fighters cuz for some reason the match maker keeps giving me 6 people teams with ju 288s taking 4 of the 6 slots. and fight teams filled with capable fighters like spits or P51H's with just me and something like a Do or Fw often being my wingman, it might as damn well be considered impossible 80% of the time. and when i play fighters of other nations the things are so annoyingly hard to kill. their fast, have lethal guns, and i never seem to kill the damn things with fires. (set a personal record of setting 4 fires to a single Ju 288, and even then he didnt burn to death, he crashed from the rounds i aimed right into his engines like 30 seconds later.). the thing in general pains everyone but the pilots themselves. the things are the sole reason my BF 109 G10 has a WL of 38% (last i checked) even with the thing being one of my favorite planes in recent times.

It can be fun, but it's extremely difficult. You have to know where every enemy fighter is at all times and make decisions accordingly. You also have to make sure to kill a fighter the first shot you get, as most of the time if you damage, or even just reverse them, they'll dive to their team or their airfield. Another good option is to squad up with someone else who's capable, and coordinate with them.

@@thelonious2213 i know :p im a seasoned vet to air battles. im just sayin, on average i at least kill 2 planes before im enevitably overrun and forced past a point of recovery. with my other teammate gone and with 4 ju 288s as my normal support its stuoid how you MUST rely on party friend to aid you just for them to be in effectively the same issue. without a party of at least 4 youll always be outnumbered in any situation and thats assuming the friends you do bring along is capable enough to hold their own against 2 people for an extended amount of time which isnt very common in warthunders player base to what ive seen over the years. :p i just wish a whole br bracket wasnt in an effective softlock money pit for all but the allies and Ju 288s that reap the benifits. even if your a skilled pilot, 20k planes will start taking a toll on your wallet even if you manage to kill at least 2 on average whe your getting nothing but loses

Ju 288Cs made spading the F4U-4B Corsair easy to be honest. You don't even need to aim, because those stock guns do enough damage as it is, even if they just cover the whole enemy plane.
