Is it really justified tho? Let's be honest. Drew stole a bracelet. But wouldn't it have been so much better if WWE brought AJ Lee back to receive a Claymore in front of a handcuffed Punk? Wouldn't Punk terrorizing Drew feel so much better if he did sth like that to Punk? Faction stuff is alright but the storytelling is the problem. The rivalries aren't personal enough to last long. Yes Dom cheated on Rhea with Liv. But it would've been so much more impactful if he hit Rhea with a chair and cost her the belt. I mean he left her for another woman but that isn't enough motive for revenge. We all experienced that and moved on. But if Dom added salt to the wounds and hit Rhea it would've made him so much worse and it would've also made it more personal. That’s something I never thought of before. Not having a time constraint would help them. On episodes where a feud takes a major turn, maybe having a few extra minutes for a promo or something could help. Sometimes go home episodes feel rushed with matches announced on them. So having more time could help flesh out those storylines.

Santi there is something I thought about a lot. What if WWE crossing certain lines is whats missing? Like what if we need bad guys to be as evil as McMahon was? Sure the story was funny back then. But we forget how disgusting and horrible he used to be to superstars. And watching him get taken down was so satisfying because of the things he did to deserve that beating from Stone Cold. He humiliated people, fired them for being reasonable, blackmailed, screwed people, insulted fans, pulled of racist promos or fat shamed. Maybe promos should be like Calvin from Django or Dahmer. Instead of having bad guys be misunderstood villains we need more. We forget that WWE is basically a soap opera. But the beatings just dont feel as justified because its not personal enough. For instance....what made Triple H vs Randy Orton in 2009 great? The fact that Randy RKO'd Steph and kissed her while she was unconscious in front of Triple H or because he cheated Triple H countless times and blindsided him week in and week out? What made us feel that Triple H going to Randy his house with a Sledgehammer was justified or satisfying? I'm just saying....racism and Dahmer behavior is bad. But they are topics that make a thriller engaging because you want to see the hero overcome these monsters. What if the stories arent personal enough. Like rivalries that go beyond the belt. Yes the rivalries are good but they arent good enough to last years. Rhea and Liv was interesting for a while but already reached a point where it's uninteresting because it feels tired. But Stone Cold vs McMahon lasted for almost a decade. If we compare the two. Liv just Stole Rhea her boyfriend and attacked her. But what McMahon did to the locker room was so terrible that it made fans watch every week to see if anyone could take him down. No matter who it was. Whoever stood against McMahon and looked like he stood a chance was getting a huge pop. Even Hornswoggle got a pop for his story with McMahon. My point being that we need villains that make us feel that hatred and need for justice. Highlights show us the funny parts but the leave out why the beating was funny. Also Triple H was about to Pedigree Linda McMahon for defending herself against her own daughter who was about to slap her. And it was so foul that even Shane had to punch him for it. It gave so many emotions in just one night. At the end of the day it is just storytelling. Django was violent and racist as hell but what made it great was the revenge was completely justified because of how evil Leonardo DiCaprio and Samuel Jackson were to deserve death.

Call me crazy but the rhea and liv feud should have more emotion into it basically dom being used and manipulated by rhea until eventually she actually began to care for him later on but the damage to dom being done now dom might betray liv for another girl inevitably because of rhea making him this way. The story should really nail down this dom persona and rhea and priest on their own now is because of rheas manipulation and maybe a reference to betraying edge.
