I agree people have been a bit harsh on him, but their criticisms were based on his actioms. Honestly, he was actually doing a lot of things that weren't Islamic, like getting a tattoo, getting a dog, dating, etc. I'm not judging him for doing these things or approve of the way people criticised him, he's still a brother, but sins are what weakens iman.
