Although the control mechanics and storytelling in Jusant could be improved on in many ways, I’m struck by the game’s exceptional ability to stimulate curiosity and drive a sense of discovery as well as the human-centered design principles evident in how it creates a deeply immersive experience. That being said I'm genuinely interested to hear how you perceive the impact of the UX design on your engagement and sense of discovery within the game. How does the design enhance or detract from your overall experience?

Great video, I'm so happy that many quality UX and game design pop up and teach cool stuff they never teach you at school but only through playing with critical thinking.

Thank you! I really appreciate you saying so! I do see it as one of the most valuable things this channel brings to the table. I will always make it a point to maintain a good blend between the academic, core principles of User Experience design and the underexplored psychology of how games appeal to our human side in practice.

At the end I kinda forced myself to finish this game, could only play it for around 20 minutes a day before it got boring/lost interest that day. That also made me skip reading any letters like you mentioned. Nice video, hope you keep going and growing since these types of analisis/perspectives are interesting

@@gowary Yeah I reckon a few folks felt that way, takes a very specific kind of person to feel compelled about it all the way through. Thanks! I definitely will do!

Just finished the game, great analysis! Definitely a good viewing especially for other game devs wanting to learn about the psychology with game design. Reminds me a lot of when I was studying up to make games ;)

@@UXandGames I already make games actually! lol I’m saying, when I was studying to make games in college, we’d play/ study up on games and the psychology of games that are just like your breakdown videos! Part of game design when I studied it has its own “psychology of play” and a lot of it has to do with what you brought up. Like the wanting earning of explorative narrative games. It’s been a few years so I forget the actual terms we had for a lot of these things but your breakdown is a good showing of said studies when it comes to early on and the triggering of that “want” for the players in video games, or in general with how our psyche is.

That's awesome! Hope I'll get a chance to play one of your games one day and see what you make using these psychology of play principles!

content is pretty good, but it could get better. when speaking, try to mabye add subtle backround music to not sound too boring. the music can be anything honestly as long as it fits. try to also speak a little closer to your mic, making your voice a little clearer. theres a subtle echo. if your closer, you dont have to speak as loudly, so we wont hear any echoes. another flaw is that i get the feeling that this is more of a school essay than a video. your tone doesnt change at all through the video and its more like a school presentation. you also sound too serious. when possible, try to add humour. hope this helps

Absolutely, all great points especially about the humour - Actively working on making the content more lighthearted. I've always believed that explaining complex ideas in the most understandable way possible is the hallmark of a good educator. I will continue pursuing that and hopefully the two videos coming out soon get me closer to that goal. Appreciate the feedback!

I appreciate that take, The real value in this channel will always be in the design expertise it brings to the table and to that end I will always ground my analyses in fact over just opinion. The human experience is key and I know I can illustrate or outline that experience and those feelings without compromising on fact. I will drown myself in truth before I sacrifice it in favour of entertainment but I also realize that this doesn't mean it has to be inaccessible. It's a balance I have to figure out over time. Perfectly reasonable amount of cents.
