My way to fight loneliness is Staceyism....named after my cousin Stacey....a true mensch, special education teacher of 30 years ...I asked Stacey her secret to happiness...and she said "I treat everyone I'm with as my best friend".....and if you live in the moment.... everyone you are with is your BEST FRIEND....in that moment. In other words every human is your best friend. Staceyism

I think what the great teacher is saying is that we go inside our house to find comfort with God and then we get the opportunity to go outside in nature so that we may speak to others about the joy of overcoming obstacles that have been placed in our way as we avoid selfish pursuits in the community where we are implanted 🌳. What the rabbi has been so clearly stating is that we can uplift rather than tear down and destroy. We see beauty without judgement. Like a bird 🐦 on a telephone wire 📞 strung from the poles we have interconnected our lives like a spider builds a web 🕸. Perhaps we each have a great purpose 🐬 or a great porpoise.

Thank You Rabbi! For all of my life I've been feeling to be separated from some other world, from some greater reality, and I am continuously longing back. I am somewhere between God and the other people. So I feel this loneliness. The only cure for this is to write poems, stories and to pray and meditate. Now, I know why this is necessary. I wish You the best Rabbi! With love from Hungary ❤

Greetings & Shabbat Shalom’ dear Rabbi Simon… From Germany and the UK. I appreciate your wisdom and offering us a calibration of otherwise unsettling circumstances and situations. Yes, I agree that “ some dance to remember and others dance to forget” Every point of refuge does have a price! I have experienced existential loneliness, I am certain of it. I love Leonard Cohen lyrics and sound. In fact I feel connected and recharged by music.🎵 Finding solace in my existence has been a laborious process… I am working on it ongoingly. In all honesty I have always been a little different, eccentric perhaps, not quite feeling as though I am arriving or fitting in. And yet, on the surface it seemed as though I could navigate through all. Fabulous concept of the fundamental reconnection, yes, 🙏 thank you. I feel whole when on my own at stages and disenfranchised/out on limb when in company. I appreciate your signposting. 💯🫶🫶🫶

These videos seem to come with perfect timing. I've recently quit drinking alcohol after years of heavy use, and the worst part wasn't the withdrawals or the boredom - it was the loneliness. It had been so long since I started drinking that I'd actually forgotten the feeling that led me to drinking in the first place, and because of the dependence on the drug I've neglected my environment, which makes me more isolated. But now I know how exactly in a spiritual sense these deep feelings manifest and what they mean, and the solution is what seems to be the ultimate solution: a connection with God. God is in everything, so by opening myself to anything sincerely and with an idea of the ultimate purpose I reconnect, and everything else falls into place and the feeling slowly goes away. Thank you Rabbi.

Thank you again, rabi Jacobson, for your wisdom and your analytical views and perspective on life. I've been fortunate enough to have children and grandchildren in my life. But sometimes, there's a deep and unexplained loneliness that lingers within. A longing that we can't quite put into words. It fades and flows, despite the love and comfort from family and friends. It's as if something deeper is missing. For me, this profound and unexplained sense of loneliness slowly dissipates when I study and delve into Kabbalah. It has been 25 years now, revisiting every new cycle beginning March 21, and only now do I begin to understand and practice its wisdom. It's like a piece of a puzzle slowly forming its image.

Beautiful, Rabbi. Thank you. Yes, connection is the ultimate answer. But, what do we do during that knawing state of loneliness? Parenting ourselves. Knowing ourselves. Learning to live with ourselves while waiting for those precious connections. With my flaws, I learn to like even love myself. Find things to make me happy. I have made lists of what I would enjoy doing. I aim to bring order, well being, and things that interest me, like my love for music as an example. I even laugh at myself when making mistakes. It may sound crazy but that's what I do.

Daniel and Joseph reveal to us that the Lord is so intimate that he knows our thoughts and dreams even before we have them. According to David (Psalm) H- knows our thoughts altogether even before we have them. H- knows our words before we speak them. In H-m we move and live and breathe and have our being. According to the Lord Jesus, H- lives in us and we in H-m and have the Holy Spirit to abide in us and with us forever. Never will H- leave us, never will H- forsake us. Metaphors like H-s Bride, Body and Temple are used. The Temple sacrificial system reveals that sin must be taken out of the way. Sacrificially, the Messiah Jesus yielded sinlessly to our lowest place and redeems us to the Highest. Praise the Lord.

Oddly enough, this talk reminds me of a book called, The Lonely Man of Faith, by Rav Soloveichik. He also talks a lot about "tzim tzum" (compressing, compacting) but his take is that G-d compresses himself into the world while the Chassidic view is that He compresses Himself out of the world and we "try to connect" spiritually as opposed to Rav Soloveichik's view that doing mitzvohs, bring G-d into our world. Doing mitvote is the road map for the individual and collective mission. A great rabbi in the Talmud was Rav Yochanan HaSandlar. (the sandal maker). A simple sandal maker who saw in every stitch making life better for someone. Or simply, as Mark Twain said, "If you want to cheer up, cheer somebody else up."

As a child, I would have moments of real closeness, talking with my mother. At the same time, I would think to myself.. again, I was a young child.. I would think to myself" No matter how close to her I might feel at this moment I will never be able to feel what it's like to be her". I have never been able to shake this perception. One of my mentors label this" existential loneliness". I wonder if others out there have had these thoughts and feelings.

Put God first in your life, and he will take care of all the rest. Give him your first fruits. Lean and trust in him. You are much, much, much more than the world, and the enemy says you are. Because the devil knows who you are he comes against you to still, kill, and destroy you. Even though he knows that nothing can be stopped that the Lord has put into place. We don't wrestle with flesh and blood but against principalities of darkness and the rulers of darkness of the world. Ephesians 6:12

Some can feel loneliness in a crowd, while others may not feel alone in a room by themselves. I believe the former are people who do not know themselves. Not themselves as in who they are today, but their other self, the one they converse with, their conscious self.
