Kamloops is an amazing place. Those fiesty kids on the horses relay. Top bull riders and the brave men keeping the riders safe. The dancers in all the categories. Wow. I think I came through Kamloops once by train way back. What I noticed was how much the area reminded me of home. Arid, open country, dry gullies, saltbush looking sage brush. Canada is a wonderful country, and your corner is good country.

I've been to a similar event, The Omak Stampede & Suicide Race, which is held South of the Washington, BC border. It was kind of overwhelming to me as there were so many people and so much going on. I did not enjoy the Suicide Race - it was brutal.

To be fair, the horses have to be at least 5yrs and earn a spot. I understand why some don't appreciate it, I'm an animal lover too. It's safer than it used to be. It's better than the horse racing industry where they start horses at 2yrs old.

The guy that was knocked to the ground...is he ok? Some horses seemed to not like being handled. Wow what a share of events! The dancing and the costumes were wonderful to see. Hope some of the costumes have been passed down and each generations adds more marvels? appreciated..Hope both of you had alot of good memories and comfortable socializing.

Bull riding is not Based on just staying on the longest they have points for different things in bull riding But you do have to stay on for 8 seconds for it to count

No animal is hurt to cause them to buck. These are some of the best cared for livestock anywhere. They are treated better than your house pet. Go and watch or better yet go and visit a ranch where rodeo bulls are raised and see for yourself. This is a misconception that needs to stop being retold.

It's actually amazing how many people think that the testicles are strapped. Nope, may be in the same end but that's the LAST thing they want to do when they put the straps on. See those dangly things in the back, those are testicles!! If they are dangling and swinging, they definately aren't bound. Many of these bulls are bred for potential offspring that will be as good rodeo bulls as the daddy, for that they need testicles. The last thing they'd do with bound testicles is buck! The strap is mere annoyance, that's it. It's like someone sitting beside you and flicking your ear...it doesn't hurt but your annoyed, maybe get mad, depending on each personality. They buck to get the strap and the rider off. They know if the rider is gone, so goes the strap. For most of the bulls getting the strap on is no more than a message that a halter is to a horse. Strap on, get ready, you're up soon. No strap, relax. Not every bull can be a rodeo bull and those that are, and are good, are worth alot of money. These bulls have the upper hand, make no mistake about it. It is the most humane of all of the complete rodeo except barrel racing. Have no misconceptions, the SPCA or some type of group is at pretty much every rodeo and they don't miss a thing. There are also vets for the animals and paramedics for the humans.

Wow, I have watched Indian relay races online for years…….truly exciting. The whole event was so spectacular and colourful! I would love to watch this for hours, which I have done online ❤‍🔥 I just don’t like the bull riding 🙈🥺. I drove through Kamloops years ago during the event and would have loved to have attended. I am so mesmerized by the horses, songs, dress and dancing that I get emotional. The filming was so well done Candice……..more please🪶
