He doesn’t really get noticed a lot for his acting but moreso his fight choreography, thought I don’t really blame anyone because his main thing is comedy which is mostly slapstick. Really the only dramatic roles he’s done are in Police Story (2013) and The Foreigner. I think if he could speak English more fluently he’d be given a lot more variety of roles.

when I was 11 I was pissed at my parents for not giving me money to go hangout with friends.. and in retaliation i threw 2 quarters on the floor in front of them as to say "this ain't enough". My dad got so angry at me to the point where you could tangibly feel terror just by being near him and he didn't talk or go near me for 3 days (he wouldve ended me). On the 4th day I asked my mom what the problem was, and she goes "you dont appreciate or see the value of work". I said, its just 50 cents. She goes.. "did you earn it? it may not be a lot but it still has meaning". This scene reminds me so much of that lesson I learned back then. Everything is kung fu, every thing has purpose and meaning.

I felt the same with the new Joker movie. For me, It wasnt "joker." But still, Joaquin Phoenix gave an amazing acting performance and the cinematography was spectacular, but it still sucked as a "joker" movie because it just wasnt "joker." So my point is, people wouldnt have watched this movie, if it wasnt called "Karate kid', as i wouldnt have watched the new joker film if it was called "Mental Health Misunderstandings". Nostalgia and familiar titles/names are a powerful thing for people which draws us in, but its the lessons and beautiful/sad/heartbreaking/heartwarming stories within those movies... that keep us watching and enjoy them.. But in the end, this movie was still a good movie.
@Touchite14 жыл бұрын

The actions worked because each one ingrained the basic motions into the muscles of each student that practiced it. It's not necessarily the act, itself, that does it, but the motions involved. It's like riding a bike: the more you do a given action, the better your body remembers it, even when your mind doesn't. Do it well, and do it consistently, and suddenly they become as natural to do as breathing
