And the protagonist is actually a victim, whereas in the first, they were trying to portray him as a victim despite the fact that he was the instigator 9/10 times. As a martial artist myself... This one is way better. My only complaint is the name. Should've never been called "Karate Kid." But as a movie, it's significantly better.

I love how in that first fight in the park, everyone has the SAME reaction when Jaden lands a hit on the bully but he does a kip up. It's always, "THERE WE GO! OKAY!" *lands back on his feet* "Oh...damn...uh, walk away" 😂 everytime 😂

I'm a superfan of the OG Karate Kid movies and even did 5 years of martial arts because of them. When this movie came out, unlike some, I kept an open mind, and really loved it. It's a great remake of the OG story with Kung Fu instead of Karate. My husband thought so as well, and I LOVE Cobra Kai and will be sorry to see it go next year.

Theres a deleted scene that never shouldve gotten taken out but after the scene where dre wins the tournament it cutz to a scene where jackie chan actually fights the other master for 5 minutes and we straight up see an all out kung fu match between jackie chan and the master. Thats why the kids bow to jackie chan after he wins because they realize their master is a bad man. IT IS MUCH BETTER AND MAKES MORE SENSE TO WHY THEY BOWED TO MR HAN

Funfact: There is a deleted scene after the final fight that in my opinion should have been in the movie. In that scene Master Li tries to hit Cheng after he lost to Dre but Mr. Han interrupts him which leads to a fight between Mr. Han and Master Li. They fight through the crowd and Dre is trying to yell out for them to stop. Mr. Han takes the upper hand and is close to becoming similar to Master Li when repeating his words never to show mercy but Dre stops him from "finishing" Master Li off with a punch. After that the students line up like in the movie in front of Mr. Han to show they wanna be trained by him. Oh and Dres Mom slaps Master Li.

I have a theory that the whole Karate Kid story will end with Daniel winning a brutal fight against the main villain of this film, but will die from the wounds afterwards and the last scene being a heartbroken Johnny, in his only scene, walking up to Daniel’s grave, telling him to rest in peace as we see that Daniel was buried next to Mr. Miyagi.

If you guys enjoy fighting movies etc. I’d recommend the original Karate Kid Films, there are 3 of them, the first in 1984, second in 86, and third in 89. There is also a show “Cobra Kai” which features the original characters who came back and like, yk a karate show 😂. Lastly , in May of 2025, Ralph Macchio (who played the original Karate Kid in 84) and Jackie Chan in this movie, team up, and is basically a karate kid movie with the 2010 version and 84 version connected, which releases on May 30, 2025, and is called, Karate Kid: Legends. I’d recommend watching the OGs and Cobra Kai if you guys become interested. Sorry for the long comment just had to let yall know!!! Nonetheless, love this movie as well and loved talks reaction!! ❤️
