The Karonga Earthquake Sequence of December 2009 in Malawi

Between December 06 and 20, 2009 the Karonga district in northern Malawi was struck by numerous earthquakes.
As a result of the earthquake sequence an Earthquake Disaster Assistance Team (EDAT) was organized by the United States Geological Survey (USGS) and sent to the earthquake region (from January 06 -16, 2010).
The cooperation of USGS and the Geological Survey Department of Malawi (GSD) could help to prepare the country to be safer in the next earthquake.
