Please guys don't trust your media on Kashmir issue specially New York Times and Washington Post. Because they only employee journlist who have anti establishment stand and who are these terror sympathizers. For ex. - Rana Ayubb and Barkha Dutt etc. These people are literally a meme in our country but only west treats them as god. You should watch Wion news channel's video on how NYT released a vacancy and said we want Anti Modi journalist.

Heard stories about how hundred of thousands people overthrown from their homes forcefully and thousands of people murdered or raped by the mobs..They can't return to their homeland even today.. But thanks to PM Modi to remove article 370 and make Kashmiri lands available for every person throughout the nation.. Thanks to US, Russia, France,Uk and all the nations except pakistan, china and turkey for supporting India on removing 370 article at UNSC.. Hope the pandits will return again❤️

That's why it was so important for Article 370 to go. One nation, one law. Read 'My Frozen Turbulence in Kashmir ' by late Mr. Jagmohan ( former Governor of Jammu and Kashmir). Anupam Kher is also a Kashmiri Pandit. Kashmiri Hindus became refugees in their own land due to cross border terrorism. Finally the state is turning a corner with removal of Article 370 and restoration of equal rights for all citizens no matter what their religion is 🙏.

@@CinemondoPodcast Absolutely. But here a big section of Muslims is not ok with this ugly truth of Kashmir finally being exposed. It is making them uncomfortable as it exposes their behavior against innocent Hindu residents of Kashmir. Hindus have been living in Kashmir since 5000 years (there are evidences of this fact) and when Islam invaded there some 600 years back, they gave them space also and welcomed to live and prosper alongside. But slowly things started changing and Islam became more dominating over Hindus. Things took drastic turn in 1947 when Pakistan was born and since birth became greedy for Kashmir and invaded there. Big genocide of Hindus took place there in October 1947 leading to exodus of Hindus but even then 10 million Hindus were still living there making peace with all somehow. But in 1990 with help of Pakistan, radical Islamists started mass killing forcing Hindus to finally leave their homeland. Then Indian govt. also paid no heed to help them for a very long time (as it was pro-Islamists) and world society didn't even know about this horrific chapter of India. The world media always reported about Kashmir showing Muslims as victim and army as villein which is 100% wrong. As this is first time the true story is coming out, Muslims are uncomfortable to look their ugliness in this mirror so instead of feeling sorry/ sad and do something to correct their mistake, they want to break the mirror. So that no one would ever dare to show them any mirror to look their ugly face again in future.... I think Vivek needs security cover now. Govt. should provide him security.

@@CinemondoPodcast The period of the film is the month before Mahashivaratri is celebrated on the Hindu Calendar. This is a festival that is celebrated & observed all over India & is a very important festival in Kashmir as they follow the Shaivite traditions there. Kashmir is one of the many places where Shaivam ,[that is, having Shiva as the main Deity] is predominent. So to celebrate Shivaratri, they have a tradition of doing dramas retelling Shiva's story & greatness. Kher's character was organising the rehearsals for it, with him acting as God Shiva in it. The Character had probably donned the paint on for the sake of making posters to advertise the sacred drama. All this is by inference only, not spelt out in the screen play. This is the context of that scene. Also the film uses a lot of metaphors in its story-telling, which adds to what this movie means for us Indians & Hindus. Recall the professor character , played by Pallavi Joshi superbly, telling "it is a historical fact that Kashmir was never a part of India"? That character was a composite of an academic at a prominent Government run University in Delhi & a novelist. Vivek has used it as an irony when the opposite is true. I come from the South, where again the Shaivite tradition is very prominent. historically we have had many interchanges of scholars who went North to Kashmir & them coming Cities in the South like Kanchi, Chidambaram & Madurai. Sage Patanjali of Yoga Sutras was one of them. The interchange of Ideas between the natives of Kashmir & other parts of India was always happening.

Hi Kathy, Thank you for reacting on this. The western media always ignored this genocide of the kashmiri pandits. 4 million people were forced to leave their homes and the valley just because they were hindus. Islamist gave a slogan " Raliv, Chaliv, galiv" which mean, either "Leave, or convert or Die" They also ordered the men to leave the women behind. Women were raped and men and children were shot infront of their eyes. Our neighbours played a very big role in creating this violence. 30 years from now still they are not able to go back to their homes. PM Modi removed the controversial article 370 which was the root cause of seperation. Please try to understand we Hindus never did any violence against the Muslims. Even the partition of our country happened because a muslim leader decided that they don't wanna live with Hindus. The western media who are very biased won't show u the truth. 😥😥 Thank you for reacting on this. ❤️❤️❤️🙏🙏🙏

The movies made in Bollywood have only glorified Kashmiri Muslims and shown how Indian army is cruel to them post the genocide of Hindus. None of the movies ever discussed the Kashmiri hindus even for once though its one of the biggest genocide for the world after Jews by Nazis. Indian media, Bollywood, so called activists and even politicians refrained from talking about Kashmiri Hindus as if they never existed. In 90's some Kashmiri Hindus were doing a peaceful protest in Newdelhi against an indifferent goverment, to take some action on the issue, but they were silenced by some politicians by saying don't bring the nation shame on international platform by raising such issues, go back and we shall give u some compensation.

As someone who has been privy to this genocide as an unaware toddler in my terrified parents’ arms, I reckon that there are some realities that you will not be able to truly represent even if you are being brutally honest. We’re talking a religious pogrom with the singular objective of turning Kashmir into an Islamic state by means of raping and killing (primarily shooting with AKs, and, in many cases, disfiguring and amputating the bodies), and thus, causing the exodus of Kashmiri Hindus who formed a minuscule percentage of the Kashmiri populace. The trailer, at places, employs the slogans of “Raliv, Galiv, ya Czaliv” which, in the Kashmiri language, translates to “Join us (that is, convert to Islam), Perish, or Flee”. These were the slogans echoing in the alleys of Kashmir against the backdrop of terrified Kashmiri Hindu households who didn’t know if and when their doors are gonna break and their lives taken. Another crucial aspect to this genocide (as is the case with genocides in general) was the subjection of Kashmiri Hindu women to some bone-chilling atrocities (the case of Girija Tickoo is just one story out of many) as well as the calls for Kashmiri Hindu men to flee but for their mothers, daughters and sisters etc. to stay. Moreover, this entire episode tarnished the colloquial essence of one of the most crucial aspects of modern democracy - Freedom (called “Aazaadi” in Kashmiri and other languages). The slogans of “Aazaadi” popularised by the Islamists in Kashmir during the genocide were meant to serve as duty calls to rid Kashmir of the Kashmiri Hindus (eliminating them and causing them to migrate elsewhere) as a part of the Islamic State project in Kashmir. Sadly, many well-meaning activists in India at present, who use the slogan of “Aazaadi” during protests, aren’t really aware of this connotation to the slogan, or choose to ignore it altogether. I thank everyone involved in the production of this film and I really hope that it does justice to what an entire community of people went through, enduring it to this day. Films like this need to be made because there are facets of human histories that we should be aware of, irrespective of our credentials as stakeholders in those events. And I thank you guys for reacting to the trailer. Hopefully, you’ll watch the movie when it comes out.

This brutality, this ideology of "inhumanity" that will remove belief from humanity, is a religion, the same that ISIS follows and has been killing, the same that led to Twin towers and multiple attacks in America, UK, France, India, Worldwide. The same that is responsible for multiple worldwide terrorism, and brutal mass murders, rapes, tortures throughout the world since several centuries.

Just for clarification, 500,000 kashmiri pandits were forced to leave kashmir, we don't know number of people died as indian govt lied about those numbers. It's not in millions. It's in between 500 to 10,000. Over night 5 lakh people left the valley in fear. So it's more like ethnic cleansing of kashmiri pandits than genocide.

@@shabarishbalaji1881 yes you are right regarding genocide of 500 - 10,000 people are killed or converted. I am pointing out 500,000 people left the valley over night in fear. 500,000 people were ethically cleansed from valley, not dead. Terminology is important. If we say 500,000 people are subjected to genocide then it will be a false statement and weakens case for their return. It's important to use correct words which are near to facts.

The shameful thing is that people of India did not even know or cared about this issue until Modi (so called right winger) was elected. Rotten indian media painted this as a struggle bw Rich Hindus and poor Muslims. But then the slogans should've been similar too, right? However, the slogans were, "Hindus run away, and leave behind your women".

Wrong. 19 Jan 1990 was not the first genocide and exodus of Kashmiri Hindus. It was the 7th in last 500 years. That's why they were reduced from 100% to 0.1% Islamic invasion of India is the bloodiest chapter in world history. It took 30 years for someone to muster up courage and energy to bring out this kind of a brutally honest and bone chilling movie to the front! Come to think of it that a holocaust comparable to the one in Germany in world war 2 was brutally suppressed to serve the abominable political interests on an international scale ! Kudos to the director, story writer and it's team along with the Government of India for not impeding the release of the same. Alas! The pro Jihadis, leftists and pseudos would slam it back saying that the events are fake and generated! But that would actually expose their sinister motives and hideous mentality. 700 families who were forced to leave Kashmir ( genocide) were interviewed ( video interview) in their homes by Vivek Agnihotri, in USA, UK, Europe and different States in India, where these Kashmiri Pandits have settled. Then the story for the film was written. 350,000-400,000 (Original inhabitants of Kashmir) were forced to leave Kashmir and 1000 were killed and raped. These video interviews will be made into a video archive for Historical purposes like the Holocausts. Thus this movie is True and accurate depiction of the incidents which took place in Jan 1990. Most of the people who committed these Crimes are still living in Kashmir.

The facepaint that Kathy mentioned comes from a religious festival called Shivaratri, related to the deity Shiva (more can be found online). On the day of Shivaratri, there is a tradition of doing stage plays and taking out processions depicting the stories on God Shiva - such as his wedding, the tandava (the divine dance). Mr. Kher has put the blue color and other color decorations on his face because he plays the role of God Shiva on every Shivaratri. If you pull up pictures of God Shiva from the internet, you will find a few that resembles the face paint of Mr. Kher.

They were given 3 option convert flee or d*ie. And when they leave they were told to leave their women behind. Kashmiri muslim lost their right over kashmir when they kild 3 thousand hindus and made 400 thousand hindus flee from their very ancestral land. Not one human right organization said anything. Their lands were further occupied by them. Despite suffering so much they never picked up guns. Even now Hindus are constantly persecuted in Kashmir by muslim extremists. The temples destroyed and looted. India has been fighting proxywar with Pakistan for decades over kashmir.

Imagine the world sidelining the Holocaust survivors and holding them responsible for their treatment at the hands of the Nazis. This movie is a story of a community which actually went through this humiliation for more than 30 years, being left to live as refugees in their own country. For the uninitiated, this movie is about one of India's most haunting Holocaust moments when the community of Kashmiri Hindus, a minority group in the state of Jammu & Kashmir, were massacred and forced out of their homes leading to one of the most brutal exodus' of modern times with 400,000 people being displaced overnight. Where the Jews were given a voice through multiple platforms to remind the world of the crimes committed against them, Kashmiri Hindus were sidelined by the then government, misrepresented and shamed by the media and left to survive on their own. This movie is a result of months of individual interviews of such survivors, backed by months of cross-referencing and research of countless testimonies and records to ensure only the authentic version of events is presented to the world. Evidence of the level of detail and truth is visible in this trailer review video, where real-life records and videos have been presented: kzbin.info/www/bejne/f2HMeYdngdiqrtU . This movie is an attempt to give voice to a community oppressed and forgotten by the world. The least we can do is listen.

Thanks for reacting. I know a lot of people will tell u about right vs left wing but its not that i will explain in terms that would help u get a clear understanding (may be). 1st hindu religion are native to old india(present divided to india, pak and bangladesh) Muslims from afghan invaded and tortured n converted hindus which r facts n slowly we r now in present. About this movie kashmir natives were obviously hindus but since due to dispute pakistan invaded with their people n muslims n hindu slowly cohabitated but pakistan always wanted whole khasmir so to do that 1st thing They brainwashed the muslims living in khasmir since in islam they have very strong belive in allah as u know boko haram also they will do anything in name of allah(NOT ALL MUSLIMS R BAD I AGREE BUT LOT TERRORIST IN WORLD ARE USING ISLAM TO DO TERROR) then 2nd part convert hindu people to muslim and those who dont were killed or forced to leave. The people of india some muslims n few hindus who got brainwashed by pakistan ideology r called leftist in india.cuz they get money from pak to cr8 havoc in india. For example present day how some ukraine people who support russia wants russia to attack ukaraine n give them a new country same thing. Now this movie is important cuz the leftist n pakistani people who have high reach to west countries as they always play victim card n get money from usa n use that money in terrorist activity. Osama laden is a clear example n usa still never blamed pak on it. So they r able to put fake articles n news in west about india harassing kashmir n keeping kashmir u can still see pakistan keep saying kashmir is ours cuz there r lot of muslims who like us. This movie where hindu pandits were killed never came to mainstream but now its coming thats good. The point in this movie trailer showed important that the muslims picked guns cuz they were harasses etc(which u know people justify to do crime) n mithun character said but the pandits never choose violence even if they were tortured n kill. Some thing to learn, dont use your pain an excuse to pick violence.

It is the day when 31 years ago final nail in the coffin of forsaken community of Kashmiri Hindus was hammered. It was the day when Islamic terrorists and their sympathisers gave 24 hours eviction notice to Kashmiri Hindus. It was the day when the threats of Raliv, Galiv Ya Chaliv (Convert, die or escape) replaced the sounds of evening Azaan (prayers) from majority of mosques in the valley of Kashmir. It was the day when so-called secularism died in Kashmir. It was the fateful day when humans lost and beasts took over. It was the day that will remain etched in the memories of Kashmiri Hindus worldwide because on this day they lost the most precious thing they had -- their homeland. And did rest of the world care? No. Not then, not now. It has been 31 years since first shots of Kashmiri Hindus' ethnic cleansing were fired loud and clear from the ramparts of mosques in the Kashmir valley. And it has been 31 long years of neglect, apathy and carelessness on the part of all the successive governments both in the state of Jammu and Kashmir and the capital Delhi. Kashmiri Hindu refugees who were overnight made homeless on January 19, 1990 have been moving from pillar to post, demanding their fundamental rights. But no one cares. No one has time for this community because they are too small a number to matter. It is a shame that the one and only symbol of India in the valley, the Kashmiri Hindus, are treated as pariahs by the government. If it were not for Kashmiri Hindus and their steadfast belief in the Indian constitution and tricolour, Kashmir would have been lost two decades ago. Sadly that stark realisation is lost on the Indian polity and government. It is not mere governments that have ignored this refugee community of patriots and nationalists. Even the media has forgotten its responsibility of highlighting the cause of those who do not have a voice. These days, the mainstream media is more interested in knowing what goes on inside the four walls of the Big Boss' house than fighting for the fundamental rights of those who have been wronged. Some leading journalists instead of focusing on ethnic cleansing issues like those of Kashmiri Hindus' have converted the noble profession of journalism into tabloid yellow journalism and are busy lobbying for political parties. It is a shame that in a free country like ours with free press, half a million Kashmiri Hindus have been hounded out of their homes and hearths and mainstream media has continued to ignore this for 31 years. But having said that, the Kashmiri Hindu is a survivor. Islamic terrorists thought they could annihilate and eradicate Kashmiri Hindu community from the face of this earth but they miserably failed in their mission. The Kashmiri Hindu community despite homelessness and horrendous ethnic cleansing survived and will survive. It is the Kashmiri Hindu's tenacity to weather any storm and belief in its values and morals that has kept the Kashmiri Hindu alive. While Kashmiri Hindus are starting their 32nd year in exile, they will never give up their dream and demand of reclaiming their homeland. In spite of extreme apathy shown by the world, Kashmiri Hindus will continue to fight for their fundamental rights and homeland in the Vale of Kashmir. Indian governments, Human Rights organisations, the media, and other world bodies might continue to ignore one of the largest ethnic cleansing in the recent times, but that will not shake off Kashmiri Hindus from their just path to their dream. Nothing can or will break their will. The dream shall live on. The fight will go on.

Anupam Kher himself is a victim of the Kashmir genocide . He along with many other Kashmiri Pundits has been fighting for justice for so many years. Finally someone had been brave enough to come out with the truth. Salute to the Director.
