I just camp on the side of the trail as long as you’re up early you’re good I do it all the time

It’s always an option. But only in emergency scenarios for me. I’m not comfortable wild camping or stealth camping in some settings, especially in the US where property rights are strict.

Good overview of the trail. A nice trip for someone new to touring. I have biked and canoed the Missouri from Sioux City to St Lewis a number of times . Always an enjoyable time.

Thanks for all your time an effort in these wonderful videos. We were on your Gap video ,we were heading to Cumberland from Pitt, which I thought was cool,we had the American Flags, then we did the Ohio/Erie trail ,went through the same storms of storms, heading to Cleveland, we were in Millersburg when it happened. You were right about the wonderful people you meet and sticking together.Trail angels!! The wife and I heading to ...Katy trail in Sept., starting in Sedelia to St. Charles. Looks like we are following you Ha!! All the best to you and your family. Thanks again. Jim

Great intro to the Katy! A friend and I did our first bike camping trip this past summer. We Amtraked from Chicago to K.C. then biked across Missouri to St.Louis using the Katy trail plus a couple of spurs to connect. Great fun for sure!

Thanks so much for sharing. Your videos have really inspired me to get outside more. I live in Kansas City and I’m slowly getting prepared to tackle the Katy Trail. Probably a bit differently as I’ll start here in KC and follow the Rock Island Trail to Windsor where I’ll pick up the Katy. Pedal to the end and Amtrak right back home. Love your videos and outlook on life. TY

Oh wow, that’s awesome. Thank you! Glad my videos inspire you. You’re gonna love The Katy. The next time I do it. I’m taking the train to Kansas City and do the Rock Island spur. I’m also going to add and extra day and take the Columbia spur too. Enjoy your rides!!!

Enjoyed the video! Logistic Questions: Where did you park your car to take the shuttle? Do they charge for the week? Any security concerns? Which shuttle service did you use? thanks :)
@DeniseLookingOut17 күн бұрын
@@xnihilo1044 good questions. We used Bike Stop Cafe in St. Charles for shuttling and we actually parked in the lot next to the bike shop. We left two cars there and neither had any issues when we returned.

Really want to do this Denise. What were your camping charges per night if you recall? And is use of bathrooms and shower included in that cost?
@DeniseLookingOutАй бұрын
Do it! The camping fees varied from $10-$25 per night and yes we had a shower at every place we stayed.
@HikerBiker Жыл бұрын
Can you give me a rough cost of the camp grounds, as a solo rider I like to keep the costs down. Looking forward to your videos of the trip.
@DeniseLookingOut Жыл бұрын
For sure, they varied from $10-$30. I do believe at the ones we stayed at, it was a per site rate, not person.
