This is the first time I saw this one. Classic Kaufman. You can see Jerry and he laughing at each other’s improving. First sign that their really friends. Kaufman coughing at the end must have been one of the last promos before he got really sick.

Recently Jerry said that Andy apologized for coughing during this promo and it wasn't long before this that he died. I do agree with others that had mentioned that the cancer was starting to settle in because Kaufman looked sickly and his impeccable timing was a tad off. We lost a great entertainer who was taken away from us too soon.

Not meaning to be mean to Andy Kaufman, but...he did know what a Hairbrush was, didn't he? Or at least a Comb? Again-not meaning to be mean, but his hair, on one side of his head was all over the place! What gives?!? This must have been just shortly before he passed away from Cancer. I actually feel sorry for the guy. What a horrible fate to have to go through! Rest In Peace, Andy Kaufman. You definitely brought a lot of smiles to my face!

yes...Andy looks and sounds bad here... poor guy.. he was diagnozed with a rare lung cancer in December 11, 1983... very soon after this interview...

I'm sure this is a scripted question on Lawler's part, but I thought I had read somewhere that Lawler thought that the feud had been milked dry by now and he felt that Kaufman was in this way too deep by this point and was somewhat concerned about his well being.
