In an Irish paper they reported that the murder victim had allegedly been involved in petrol bombing a few houses, one had a woman in the house and this was also in retaliation to that. I hope this shows young kids that no matter how attractive getting involved in selling drugs, the money etc it will always end one way, there are always people who are more vicious then you who won't think twice about slotting you.

It should have city status, which would allow more funding to go through the town and allow more resources to prevent kids from getting into this stuff. It's ridiculous that local government and politics prevents more resources coming to this town. Lack of funding is inhibiting preventative measures, therefore causing these kids to fall into the trap of easy money.

john francis Yes and No. you have to remember this kid was 17 he was well past the age of knowing what’s right and wrong, and the risks. But, at the same time, coming from Drogheda, I know there m the town could do much more but it doesn’t have the resources, crime has gotten worse. I do agree that there are sick individuals who groom kids out there for their own agenda, but I believe kids would be less of an easy target if there were more youth clubs and work programmes around here. I believe he could have been saved from this!
