Keane Mulready-Woods, 17, was dismembered with his head 'due to be delivered to crime boss as warning', it has been claimed.
It’s understood two butchers Chopped off his fingertips and thumbs before dumping his severed legs and arms on a street.
Sources said this was to remove any potential DNA from the killers under his finger nails to help them evade prosecution,
A hitman and his sidekick abducted the 17-year-old and stabbing him to death, before chopping up his body - and putting it in bags.
A source said: “It’s believed an attempt was made to thwart gardai getting any DNA from Keane’s limbs by removing his fingertips.
His arms and legs were dumped in a sports holdall on the Moatview estate in Coolock, north Dublin, on Monday night.
The following evening, his head and hands were discovered in a burning car in Drumcondra. The torso is still missing.
The two main suspects are involved in bloody war with a rival gang in Drogheda and an outfit run by a Mr Big in Coolock. On Monday, the killers were on the way to the rival’s house in Coolock to dump the body parts in his garden but panicked when gardai probing a robbery arrived.
They instead dumped the limbs on a street where kids found them.

It should have city status, which would allow more funding to go through the town and allow more resources to prevent kids from getting into this stuff. It's ridiculous that local government and politics prevents more resources coming to this town. Lack of funding is inhibiting preventative measures, therefore causing these kids to fall into the trap of easy money.

john francis Yes and No. you have to remember this kid was 17 he was well past the age of knowing what’s right and wrong, and the risks. But, at the same time, coming from Drogheda, I know there m the town could do much more but it doesn’t have the resources, crime has gotten worse. I do agree that there are sick individuals who groom kids out there for their own agenda, but I believe kids would be less of an easy target if there were more youth clubs and work programmes around here. I believe he could have been saved from this!

I can absolutely sympathise with the parents who didn't necessarily do anything that would warrant them finding out their child had been murdered and dismembered. I just find it hard to sympathise with Keane himself, who appeared to be well on the path to being a violent psycho. The law-abiding members of his local area might be horrified at how he went, but I wonder whether they're sorry he's gone, all the same.
